Tomb Raider - The Last Revelation -- General Strategy Guide

1. KNOW THYSELF
If Tomb Raider - The Last Revelation is your first exposure to the Tomb Raider world, then this document is a must read for you.

The first couple of levels are provided as training levels, where Lara's mentor Werner Von Croy will walk you through everything Lara must learn in order to sucessfully complete her adventures. Von Croy will talk you through everything you need to know to get around in her latest adventure. Those who have played the previous Tomb Raider games, will have to patiently work through these first levels, but as an added challenge, adept players who obtain all the secrets on the first level will be rewarded with a tougher version of the second level. Do not be too confident and breeze past these two levels, becase a few new moves have been added to Lara's repertoire and you'll need to know them to get through the latest adventure.

Below are some important facts about this game that will help you get Lara through Tomb Raider - The Last Revelation. If you want strategies and hints, you should consult the General Hints Section.

Patch Notice: Please note that there are a couple of patches for the PC version of Tomb Raider - The Last Revelation . This patch resolves several issues. Read this page for more information about what issues the patch fixes or download the patch now.

1a. KNOW THE WORLD
Just as in the previous Tomb Raider games, everything in Lara's world is divided up into equal sized blocks that are just a little longer than Lara is tall. By understanding this simple fact, you will be able to gauge the distances to help you select the appropriate action that is required to get Lara from one point to another point in the game. Even though the recent Tomb Raider game engines use triangles to render shapes, you will find that fundamentally distance is still measured by the legs of the triangles (ie. the sides of the square that is formed by two triangles). This means that Lara's world is still fundamentally divided up into square blocks.

When the words "block" (when not used in reference to a movable block) or "square" is used in this guide, they often refer to the distance measured by the number of the aforementioned squares. In practical terms, one "block" or "square" is equivalent to the the distance that Lara travels if she walks forward four steps, walks backward three steps, hops back once, or reverse rolls. In the "Tomb Raider" world, each block measures 2 metres (which can be determined if you examine the game statistics when Lara travels one block, the recorded distance will be 2 metres).

1b. KNOW THE DIFFERENCES
If you have played any of the previous Tomb Raider games, you should familiarize yourself with the differences of this latest installment of the series in comparison to any of the previous games. As a warning specifically to the Tomb Raider veterans, do not allow yourself to be lulled into a sense of false security. Be prepared to make use of Lara's new moves, new weapons, and new vehicles to get her out of tight situations.

Tomb Raider - The Last Revelation adds several new features to the series. Most notably, Lara may have to backtrack to previous "levels" and cut-scenes may appear anywhere within a level, rather than only at the beginning or end of a level. Additional differences are as follows.

  • Except for the first two levels, which are set in Cambodia, all the rest of the levels are located in various parts of Egypt. The game designers have divided the thirty-four Egyptian levels into seven areas.

  • The save game/health crystals have been removed, and once again players can save at any time in the game regardless of which platform the game is running on.

  • There is now greater interaction between Lara and her surroundings. When Lara exits a pool, water will drip from her body. When she becomes poisoned, as the poisoned takes hold, Lara's vision will become blurry.

  • The targetting system is slightly different than previous Tomb Raider games. Once Lara loses line-of-sight on a target, she will cease "lock-on" unlike in previous games, where Lara will doggedly target the same enemy, even after it is dead. Worse yet, Lara will sometimes automatically target things that you don't want to shoot at. As an alternative to Lara's new automatic targetting system, you can turn on manual target selection, where Lara will only target an enemy when you press the look key, and you can cycle through targets by repeatedly pressing the look key.

  • Not everything that moves is an enemy, and not all enemies can be killed with gunfire. For more information about the various friends and enemies Lara will encounter, please consult the Supplemental Enemies chapter. You can refer to the General Hints chapter for general game playing tips and strategies.

  • Items in this game to not behave as simple key-and-lock type interactions with their surroundings. There will be times where you will have to combine two items before using the resulant item. Other times it will be necessary to put something into another item or pour something out.

  • 1c. KNOW THE KEYS
This section is specifically for the PC-CDROM version of Tomb Raider - The Last Revelation. There are lots of short-cuts or "hot keys" to important features of Tomb Raider - The Last Revelation and in particular, some of the keyboard definitions have changed yet again. Click on this link to view the Keyboard Definitions for Tomb Raider - The Last Revelation.

    1d. KNOW THE STEPS
    Picking Up &
    Using Objects
The most fundamental action in this game involves manipulating objects. To pick up an object, stand, crawl or swim over it and press the action key. In previous games, Lara can only pick up objects that she is standing over, but in The Last Revelation, Lara can pick up objects from on top of pedestals, or out of a small hole.

Most objects are used by placing them in their respective receptacle. To do this, stand adjacent to and squarely facing the object's receptacle and press the action key. The screen will change to the menu ring, and you can select the item you wish to use if it is not already selected by default for you. If it is the incorrect object, Lara will complain to you by saying "No".

Some objects must be combined before use. To do this, you must go to the inventory screen, select an object and select the combine feature. Lara can then use the combined object.

Lara can also throw levers and switches, push buttons, and pull chains that she comes across in the game. To activate one of these devices, position Lara in front of it and press the action key.
    Look
Often times, the "intelligent camera" will not give you the exact view of Lara's heading because she is in a tight place or has her back against a wall. Sometimes the camera will give you a very nice, but totally useless, view of Lara herself when what you really need to see is where she's headed. In these cases, if you press and hold the look key, the camera will move to directly behind Lara and slightly above her head. If your video card supports it, Lara may also become transparent, so that you can see portions of the screen that would otherwise be blocked by Lara's head or body.

This is an essential lesson to learn when you are trying to line up Lara for a jump and the camera is not directly behind her. Pressing the Look button will let you know exactly which direction Lara is facing. With the look key depressed, you can use the arrow keys to rotate the view to look around. The limits of the look are based on how far Lara can turn her head and lean.

One important aspect of the look key, is to cancel a cut-scene. Sometimes an action causes the camera to leave Lara and show you what's going on elsewhere in the level. In these situations you can end it prematurely by pressing the look key. You will find in some instances, the time it takes to watch that camera angle, will be costly. In The Last Revelation, you will find that some cut-scenes can be cancelled with the look key, while other cinematic views cannot.
    Turn
If you press and hold either the left or right arrow, Lara will begin to turn herself in place. She will continue to rotate until you let go.
    Run
This is what happens when you press the up arrow. The default action is for Lara to run forward. You can corner by pressing the left or right arrow in conjunction with the forward key.
    Hop back
If you press and hold the down arrow, Lara will take a hop backwards the distance of exactly one block and continue hopping backwards until she runs into a wall, she falls off a ledge, or you let go of the key. Hopping back is essential for setting up running jumps.
    Walk
If you press and hold the walk key and then press the up or down arrow, Lara will walk carefully forward or backward respectively. The importance of this move is that Lara will not fall off the edge of a platform or ledge while walking. If you walk up to an edge, Lara will automatically stop.

You can have Lara walk around corners by pressing the left or right keys in conjunction with the walk key and the forward or back arrows. Lara can carefully negotiate fields of spikes or other sharp objects without taking any damage by walking instead of running.

Walking is essential for lining up a standing jump across a single block. It is important to to release the direction key before you release the walk key when you are walking, because if you release the walk key before the direction key, Lara will begin to run in the direction of the key you are still holding down, even if it sends her off the edge of a cliff.

    Sidestep
If you press and hold the walk key and press just the left or right direction key or if you use the sidestep keys, Lara will carefully step in the respective direction while still facing forward. Lara will not sidestep off of any ledge or platform or down a step. If you make Lara side step near an edge, she will turn such that she steps in the direction parallel to the edge instead of stepping off the edge.
    Crouch
If you press and hold the duck or crouch key, Lara will duck down and stay in the crouched position until you release the duck key. While crouched down, Lara can only draw and fire weapons from her side holsters and cannot use weapons that she carries on her back. She can also pick up objects by using the action key. Unlike in the previous game, Lara can now also also turn in place by using the left and right arrows while crouching. While crouched, Lara can also get onto her hands and knees to crawl around.
    Crawl
When Lara is crouching and you press the up or down arrow keys, Lara will begin crawling either forward or backward respectively. This will allow Lara to get through passages that are too small to traverse through while in a upright position or evade being noticed by human enemies. If while crawling, you press the left or right arrow key, Lara will turn in place while on her hands and knees.

If there is no room for Lara to stand, you may release the crouch key, and Lara will remain in the crouched or crawling position until the area is tall enough for her to stand. If you are crawling, you can also release the crouch key and Lara will continue crawling until you release the arrow keys, at which point she will directly stand up.

While in the crawling position, Lara can pick up objects or draw weapons by using the action or draw keys respectively. In order to accomplish either of these tasks, it is necessary to return Lara to the crouched position first. Lara can automatically return to the crouched position if you press and hold the respective key for a moment. If you only tap the key Lara will return to the crouched position, but you will need to tap the same key a second time to accomplish the desired action.

If you back Lara to an edge and press the action key and continue backing her up, Lara will carefully lower herself over the edge and end up in the hanging position. Lara cannot hang down from a ledge if she approaches it forwards.
    Sprint
While Lara is running and you press and hold the sprint, key a green energy bar will appear on the screen as Lara will lean into her run and start running faster (sprinting). Lara can sustain this speed until she becomes fatigued (the green energy bar runs out) or until she runs into something, like a wall or a step. Lara will revert to a normal run until her energy bar recharges.

You can only change Lara's heading very slightly when sprinting by pressing the left and right direction keys in conjunction to the forward and sprint keys. If you press the down arrow while Lara is performing a sprint or if you release the forward key without releasing the sprint key, she will skid to a halt. If Lara needs to dive through a closing door, she can terminate her sprint with a running dive and roll by pressing the jump key.

    1e. KNOW THE JUMPS
    Jumping in place
You can make Lara jump up and down in place by pressing the jump key alone. This jump is not really "in place", as we imply, but actually Lara will inch forward very slightly with every jump. This jump is useful primarily for Lara to grab and pull up onto something directly above her. With the jump key depressed, Lara will continue to jump up an down in place.
    Standing Jump
A standing jump will span just over one block. That is to say, it will get you over the adjacent block to the block beyond it. The move is performed by pressing the jump key, then followed immediately by pressing the direction which you want to jump. The best way to accomplish this move is to walk to the to the very edge of a platform or ledge until Lara will walk no further, then perform the jump in order to guarantee that Lara will clear the one block.

One important feature of any jump forward is that Lara can alter her heading slightly in mid jump by pressing either the left or right direction arrow after she has left the ground.

Performing this jump backward will cause Lara to perform a back flip, while performing this jump to either side will cause her to perform a sort of side flip. A variant of the back flip can be performed while scaling a surface or climbing a ladder. You will learn about grabbing onto things from jumps later. Be aware that if Lara reaches out to grab a ledge while performing any jump, it will change the trajectory of Lara's jump even if she doesn't actually grab onto anything.
    Running Jump
A running jump will span just over two and a half blocks. The move is performed by pressing the forward key, then followed immediately by pressing the jump key. Lara will run forward two steps and then jump. The best way to accomplish this is to walk to the very edge of a platform or ledge until Lara will walk no further, then take a hop back and then perform the running jump. The hop back will guarantee you have enough room to run up to the jump.

As with the standing jumps, when Lara is jumping forward, she can veer to the left or right if the respective arrow key is pressed after she leaves the ground. Sure it violates all known laws of physics, but it will come in real handy for our purposes. Also like the standing jump, attempting to grabbing onto things in mid-jump will change the trajectory of Lara's jump. If you want Lara to cover a long distance faster, have her take running jumps along the way. Lara can cover the same distance faster if she takes running jumps along the way than running alone.
    Jump and
    Half Twist
This move is essentially a standing jump, except Lara also performs a twist in midair and lands facing the opposite direction (see reverse). This move is performed by first pressing the jump key, followed immediately by the direction of the jump (either forward or backward) and with the jump key still depressed, immediately press the opposite direction (either backward or forward, respectively) or the reverse key. The time between the up and down key stokes is very short, so some amount of practice is needed before you master this jump, but if Lara is jumping a longer distance (like jumping down from a step or jumping while sliding down a slope) you will have a slightly longer time to perform the twist, thus making this move easier. If you perform the jump backwards, not only does Lara do a twist, but it's actually a back flip twist. A variant of this jump can be performed while scaling a surface or climbing a ladder.
    Dive Roll
This move is derived from the more useless swan dive move that Lara can do into water. On dry land, though, this move had some interesting uses in the original game, such as avoiding darts and nasty shocks. To perform a dive roll, press and hold the walk key, then press jump and the forward key. Lara will gracefully dive forward and hit the ground with a forward somersault.
    Running Dive
    and Roll
This move is similar to the dive roll, however, this move occurs when you press jump while performing a sprint. Lara will take a long dive forward and hit the ground and take a roll and end up in a standing position. The idea for this move is to allow Lara a little extra burst of speed if she needs to dive through a closing door. This move must be performed before Lara's green energy bar is depleted. Lara can also fire her weapon while performing this dive.

    1f. KNOW THE MOVES
    Draw a Weapon
    & Firing
Lara knows how to handle a gun. Just press the draw key, and she will whip out the last weapon she used. Press the draw key again, and she will holster the weapon. There are also shortcut keys that you can use to quickly draw a weapon other than the last used.

Lara will target enemies that she sees automatically. You can fire a weapon by pressing the action key. Lara can continue to target and fire at a target while jumping, running, back flipping, turning, and side flipping. Lara will no longer maintain her sights locked onto the same target if you press and hold the action key. Once a target is out of sight, Lara will fire straight ahead or at another target. In The Last Revelation, you can select manual lock-on, which forces you to press the look key to select a target before Lara will lock onto it.

Keep in mind that Lara cannot hold her guns and a flare at the same time. Drawing a weapon while Lara is holding a flare will cause her immediately to chuck the flare. Lara can also no longer perform any action requiring her hands, such as climbing, grabbing, or pulling switches. For more information about Lara's arsenal, you should read the General Hints chapter.
    Lighting &
    Throwing Flares
In order to illuminate a dark area, Lara can light a flare using the flare key. If Lara presses the flare key a second time, she will toss it a short distance. Lara will drop the flare if she readies a weapon. Flares work underwater and Lara can hang onto flares while she is climbing, crawling, or riding vehicles. Lara will automatically discard a flare after it is spent. The flares used in Tomb Raider - The Last Revelation are actually chemical "glow sticks" rather than the flares that players may be familar with.
    Reverse Roll
Invariably you will find that making an about-face by turning Lara around is often too slow (See Turning). Those precious moments can spell Lara's demise if you are not careful. The reverse key will cause Lara to dive forward, roll on one shoulder and come up facing the opposite direction. This move can also be performed by pressing the forward and back keys simultaneously, but wait there's more:

The reverse key has lots of undocumented features including the commonly ignored fact that Lara does move forward while reversing direction. This can be used to your advantage if, for example, you want Lara to step on a pressure plate that opens a timed door behind you. Also, if Lara is standing two steps shy of the edge of a platform, you can have her reverse right off of the edge of a cliff. Don't worry because you can immediately press and hold the action key and end up in the hanging position (see Safety Drop). (If you execute a reverse at the very edge of a platform, since there is no room for her to roll on her shoulder, she will simply step off the ledge. So be sure not to execute a reverse at the very edge or one step short of the edge of any platforms. Lara will not be given the opportunity to perform a safety drop because she didn't actually reverse directions and so is facing the wrong way.)
    Grabbing, Pulling
    Up, and Vaulting
When a jump is too long or high for Lara to make, you can grab onto the edge of platforms, blocks and ledges, ladders and ropes. Grabbing a ledge after taking a standing jump will allow Lara to span a distance of two blocks with Lara dangling off the third block. Grabbing a ledge at the end of a running jump will allow Lara to span three blocks with Lara grabbing onto the fourth block. These distances are must be adjusted if the beginning and ending blocks are at different heights. Both these moves are performed by pressing the action key while in mid-air after taking a jump. Grabbing is not just for climbing up ladders or onto ledges, it is also used for climbing down. See Safety drops below.

Another important action that involves grabbing onto ledges is climbing up onto blocks. With waist high blocks, Lara can simply vault onto the block by pressing the up arrow and the action key. When a block, ledge or bridge is taller than Lara is, but is still within Lara's reach, you can press the up arrow or the jump key, and then press and hold the action key, which will cause Lara to jump straight up and grab onto the block above. The order of the keys is important if Lara is trying to climb onto a moveable block. If you reverse the keys, she will push the block instead of climbing onto it.
    Shimmying
While Lara is hanging from a ledge, you can choose to have Lara pull herself up by pressing the up arrow, or shimmy left or right by pressing the left or right arrows respectively, while the action key is still depressed. Unlike in any previous game, Lara can now shimmy around a corner.
    Scaling and
    Climbing
Lara can scale vertical surfaces if there are hand and footholds (such as a vines, a bookcase, or a ladder). This move is similar to pulling up. To have Lara scale up a wall, have her stand squarely facing the wall, and press and hold the action key followed by the up arrow. She will find a foothold and climb onto the wall.

While keeping the action key held down, you can use the up and down arrow keys to get Lara to climb up or down. Using either the left and right arrow keys, you can get her to shift in the respective direction side to side. Shifting to the side far enough will usually result in a lack of footholds. If there isn't enough of a foothold, Lara will climb the surface using only her hands.

By pressing the jump key while climbing, Lara will back flip off of the ladder or whatever surface she happens to be climbing. If the up arrow is depressed in combination with the jump key, then not only will Lara back flip off of the surface she is climbing, she will actually twist around in midair to face the opposite direction. If the action key is depressed the entire time, she can actually grab onto the opposite surface if it is scalable. Similarly Lara can also take standing or running jumps and "land" by grabbing onto the surface if it is scalable.
    Hanging &
    Safety Drops
You can drop off a ledge by walking to the edge of a ledge, turning all the way around, and then tapping the down key, followed immediately by the action key. Lara will hop off the ledge backwards, then drop and hang from that ledge. She will continue to hang there until you release the action key or have her pull herself up by pressing the up key.

Another useful move is, if there is a crevice or ledge a little below the one Lara is currently hanging from, you can release the action key to allow Lara to let go of the first ledge, and then press and hold the action key immediately after and Lara will fall a little way then grab onto the ledge below the one she was just holding on to.

Dropping down by first hanging off the edge of a block allows Lara to drop much further without taking any damage (though some damage will still be inflicted on Lara for really long falls, and death is imminent for ridiculously high drops, which Lara will inform you of as she releases one or more blood curdling screams as she falls to her death) and will henceforth be referred to as a Safety Drop.

Another feature of the safety drop is that Lara will drop straight down, which would not be the case had she walked, ran, or jumped off the edge of a platform, in which case she would fall in a parabolic trajectory. Sometimes the result of such a fall is the missing of the ledge below. Safety drops are key... learn it, memorize it, and use it.
    Pushing &
    Pulling
Every so often, Lara will find herself in a dead end. She's a lot more resourceful and a lot stronger than she looks. If you spot a block or object that can be pushed or pulled, you just have to have Lara stand in front of it as close as she can get to it, facing it squarely, and then press the action button. Lara will squat slightly, getting ready to use all her might, to push or pull the block, depending on whether you press the up or down arrow, respectively, at that point. If you keep the action key pressed down, Lara will continue to push the object until you release.

    1g. LEARNING TO SWIM
    Wading
While standing in shallow water, Lara can wade around by pressing any of the direction keys. Movement is much like on land, except for the fact that movement is impaired as the water gets deeper until Lara must tread water. This is not so much a different move, but it is important to note that Lara will move slower and slower as she wades deeper into the water. Lara can draw her guns while wading.
    Swimming
Lara can swim quite well underwater even if you can't. Just have her jump into some water and use the arrow keys to rotate Lara and the jump key to get her to do her breast stroke. Keep an eye on her air meter, because once she runs out of air, she will begin to take damage, and when she's taken enough damage, she will let you know that she's drowning. Lara can only use the harpoon gun when submerged underwater or treading water.
    Treading Water
If Lara surfaces from her swim, she can tread water and maneuver around on the surface of the water. All the usual direction keys apply. To move forward or back you can use the up or down key respectively. To turn clockwise or counter-clockwise you use the right or left key respectively and to move left and right you use the left or right sidestep key respectively. Keep in mind that moving forward on the surface of the water is the slowest way for Lara to get around in the water. Press the jump key to dive back down into the water or turn sideways and hold down the walk key and use the left and right arrow keys to get Lara around faster. You should use the action key followed by the up key to get Lara to pull herself up out of the water when she is at the edge of dry land.
    Flip Turn
Another useful move for Lara is the underwater flip turn. While in water, if you press the reverse key, Lara will perform a flip turn like an Olympic swimmer and turn and face the opposite direction. This move is quite important when Lara needs to avoid underwater enemies.

    1h. HANGING ON!
    Hand Over
    Hand Swing
There will be some instances where Lara can jump straight up and grab onto something an overhead, such as a mesh surface or a horizontal bar. Lara can then swing hand over hand while dangling off the surface in order to traverse a gap below by pressing the forward key. Although Lara can turn right and left while doing a monkey swing, by using the right or left keys respectively, she cannot swing backwards. Lara can shimmy to the left or right while hanging from overhead bars by holding down the walk key and pressing left or right to shimmy in that respective direction. Also be careful, while swinging when Lara is hanging too close to an edge, as she may fall off.
    Rope Swinging
Once Lara is hanging on a rope, there are a few things she can do. She can climb up the rope by pressing the up arrow. She can slide down the rope by pressing the down arrow. Lara will not slide off the end of the rope so long as the action key is pressed. Lara can also rotate herself around the axis of the rope using the left and right arrow keys. If the bottom end of the rope is free swinging, Lara can also cause the rope to swing by pressing the sprint key.

To drop off the rope Lara can simply release the jump key. In some instances, Lara may need to launch herself off the rope. To accomplish this, while the action key is still pressed, also press the jump key, and Lara will launch herself from the rope.
    Pole Climbing
Similar to climbing ropes, Lara can climb up and slide down poles. When standing at the base of a pole, Lara can simply press the action key and climb on, otherwise she will have to jump and grab onto the pole.

Pressing the up key will cause Lara to climb up the pole. Pressing the down key will cause her to slide down the pole. To dismount a pole, Lara can simply release, or she can backflip off the pole by pressing the jump key.

    1i. USELESS
    M
OVES THAT ARE JUST TOO COOL
    Swan Dive
This is not a particularly useful move, but it's just oh so cool to have Lara swan dive into water rather than just jumping in. To perform this move, stand a hop or two shy of the edge of some water. Press and hold the walk key, the press jump and the up arrow to perform a perfectly executed swan dive into the water. This dive causes Lara to dive deeper and faster than just jumping in, so watch out for those underwater rocks.
    Forward Somersault
    Dive
When performing a dive from a particularly high platform, preferably into water, Lara can perform this graceful variation of the swan dive. Similar to the swan dive, this dive is performed by pressing and holding the walk key, then pressing the jump followed immediately by the up arrow keys. After Lara begins her dive, press and hold the reverse key. Lara will perform as many somersaults as there is time for before hitting the water.
    Pull Up Handstand
    Step Over
This has got to be the most useless move that Lara can perform, but is included to show off Lara's gymnastic abilities, as if they are not apparent in the way she jumps around. Probably this move was included primarily to show off what a bunch of video game programmers can come up with while sitting around in a dark room staring at a digital babe for hours on end. To perform this move, Lara must start off in the hanging position. Then press and hold the walk key and then press the up arrow. Lara will pull herself up, then lift her body up and over her head into a handstand. From the handstand, Lara will lower one leg, bending backwards until it's nearly to the ground and she will flip herself upright.

    1j. LEARNING TO DRIVE
Just as in Tomb Raider II and III, Lara will be able to pilot some vehicles in Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation. It will take some practice for you you to learn how to steer these things, so take some time to familiarize yourself with how to maneuver these vehicles. A good time to practice is when there are no enemies around taking pot shots at you.

The controls for the various vehicles are, once again, somewhat different than the vehicles in the previous game. In addition, some of the controls listed in the CD-ROM insert are different from the actual controls.
    Jeep
In order to operate the Jeep, you'll need the keys. Stand in front of either door and use the keys to climb aboard and start the engine. Once inside the jeep, press the jump key and either the left or right arrow to exit the jeep on the respective side.

Driving the Jeep is interesting. The action key accelerates the jeep, in forward or reverse. The left and right arrow keys steers the Jeep. The jump key applies the brakes. The sprint key shifts the Jeep into reverse, and either of the side step keys will shift the Jeep back into drive.

    Mootorcycle
    with
    Sidecar
To mount the motorcycle, stand in front of the motorcycle, on the side without the sidecar and press the action key. The basic controls are as follows. The left and right keys steers the motorcycle in the respective direction. The action key accelerates the motorcycle. To pull the motorcycle backwards, use the down arrow key. The jump key applies the brakes. To dismount the motorcycle apply the brakes using the jump key and press the right arrow to dismount the motorcycle on the side of the motorcycle without the side car.

A little after you locate the motorcycle, you will need to make a few field modifications. This involves a canister of nitrous oxide and a feeder tube, which must be obtained separately, but both necessary. After obtaining both items, they must be combined prior to installation on the motorcycle. In order to activate the nitrous oxide boost, press the sprint key. The nitrous oxide will provide additional acceleration to jump the motorcycle over extremely large gaps.
