Temple of Horus
Items: 5
Kills: 13
The Temple of Horus is where you're going to make your stand against Seth. Here's a few tips to help you along.
Weighty Puzzles
There are three water puzzles you will face. You already have the small waterskin, and you'll soon find the large one. Here are the rules. The markings on the walls tell you how many litres of water to pour into the vase on the scales. You fill up the waterskins in the pools, and you pour it them out on to the ground. You can also pour water from one waterskin to the other. Pouring the correct amount of water into vase will open the grate in the floor to allow you to proceed, while pouring the incorrect amount will release the Ammit, which you will have to kill.
Water Meter
If we gave you hints about how to get the correct amounts of water for each puzzle, we'd be giving away the puzzle outright. Let us clarify the hints. You fill up the waterskins and then you pour water from one waterskin into the other, and you pour water out onto the ground that you don't need. The goal is to pour water until you are left with the correct amount of water in the waterskins. One more tip for you: When you're ready to pour the water into the vase, make sure you're firmly pressed against the pan of the scale so you don't accidentally pour the water out onto the ground.
Three of Three
When you've solved the water puzzles, you'll be climbing down the shaft with blue light once again. You may be tempted to jump out part way down, but climb to the bottom until Lara can shift onto a small high ledge in an enormous underground cavern.
Take the Plunge
You have to get to the bottom of the cavern. The way to do it quickly is to take a jump into the pool below. The problem is that a jump in most any direction will result in splatting Lara into the ground below. A running jump to the north will safely land you in the water below.
Hasty Retreat
Place the four holy scriptures onto the four stone pedestals surrounding the statue of Horus, then walk up to the statue to replace the armor onto the statue. Seth, unfortunately will beat Horus to the punch, and you're left to fix the problem yourself. You can't kill Seth, so all you can do is run. Keep moving to avoid getting hit by Seth's tremendous bolts.
Seal of Approval
Grab the Amulet of Horus that gets blasted into the pool when Seth arrives. Then enter the gateway on the southern side of the large cavern, where you will find a lever to open the gateway on the northern side of the large cavern. Head to the northern gate and throw the lever inside to arm a set of trapdoors that can be used to seal Seth in this chamber.
Escape Route
Now it's time to work your way back up to the ledge near the top of the cavern. We'll just outline the route for you. It starts at the ledge near the southern gate. From there, you can take a jump down to a ledge at the southeastern corner of the cavern. There are a couple of ledges along the eastern walls until you make it to the ledge at the upper northeast corner of the ledge. A scramble up the rocks, and then back to the south where you'll find a ledge that dangles down from the ceiling. A blind running jump into the southeast corner of the cavern, and then into a crawlspace. On the other side of the crawlspace, you will make your way around until you can take a running jump to a rock face near the blue shaft of light.
Job Well Done
You've successfully sealed Seth in the chamber below, and now all you have to do is escape. You'll have to deal with a few more shifting block corridors and blocks that drop down from the ceiling. You don't have to wait until you get squashed by a block to figure out which of the blocks will crash down. Just look up. They're clearly marked.
Destiny
The world is safe once more. Don't worry. You haven't done anything wrong. Whatever you do, the outcome is the same.
