Temple of Poseidon (1st)
Items: 11
Kills: 14
The Temple of Poseidon is fairly short and the purpose is quite straightforward. If you need help, we've got hints for you.
Overview
By this point you should have picked up all four trident heads from the Catacombs. If you haven't then you should go back and retrieve them all. The Temple of Poseidon consist of a central room with a deep pit with four chambers that lead off in the cardinal directions. Our hints will start with the passage to the north, then the chamber to the east, then the chamber to the west, and finally the passage to the south.
Quick and Easy
After you've made your way through the first chamber, you can drop into a trench and enter a second chamber. Crawl through the crawlspace and you will emerge in a hallway. If only all tasks were this easy. You have trident heads, the statue of Poseidon in the far alcove is missing a trident head. If you need a little challenge, explore the chamber just off the hallway that leads to the statue.
Ladder of Success
In the chamber furthest to the east with the large carved face is a ladder that leads up to a chamber above. From there, you need only deal with a skeleton and you'll find another statue of Poseidon. You should know what to do by now.
Too Easy
This seems much too easy, doesn't it. This is the second of four statues and you're thinking this level is going to be a breeze! Well, when you get back down the ladder, you will find a water elemental hot on your tail. Where's one of those falcon statues when you need one, eh? Well, there's one near the entrance to the Temple of Poseidon from the Catacombs.
Hot, Hot, Hot!
Okay, now things get interesting. The chamber to the west has an obvious crawlspace in the wall. The most notable thing is the burner just below. You can easily circumvent the burner with a side step. Once again, replacing the trident will be easy. It's leaving that will be a tad more difficult.
Home Stretch
Enter the passage to the north, and you'll find a pole. Climb the pole and you'll end up in a familiar situation: find a statue that's missing a trident head. Only, this time you'll have to fight your way in as well as out.
Off the Deep End
So now you have water flowing into the pit from all sides. The next step should be obvious, you're going for a swim. Be ready for a fight when you get out.
Double Teamed
Two water elementals are not necessarily better than one, but they can be just as easy to deal with if you only knew where there was a falcon statue. Well, lucky for you there are two nearby. You just need to reveal their location, and that will just take a well aimed shot from the pistols. You;ve got to wonder what's so important that someone set two water elementals here to guard it.
Sceneic Route
From this point you can open the coffer and move onto the Lost Library, but if you'd like to hear all that Jean-Yves has to say, you can push the grey panel with the carved face, and make your way back to Alexandria by way of the Coastal Ruins, otherwise, skip on to our return to the Temple of Poseidon.
