The Lost City of Tinnos

Step forward up onto the threshold and the door ahead will open automatically as Lara approaches it. Run forward into the antechamber until Lara passes the pillar. Turn left and head toward the far back corner. Run up the slope to the right of the statue and climb up the stone hand and footholds on the wall near the corner. Pull up and and step into the passageway. Follow it as winds right, upward, right and over a grated floor. Run forward and turn right and down the slope.

Step forward and pull the lever on the pillar ahead and to the right to open a stone door below. Sidestep to the left and run forward down the winding tunnel. Turn left and step forward to the end of the passageway. Lara will overlook the antechamber. Take a step backwards away from the edge of the tunnel and take a standing jump down to the pillar below. Turn right and take a running jump and grab to reach the ledge that protrudes from the wall. Turn right and step forward to collect the crystal (1) and then pick up the rocket (2). Turn left and hop backwards and safety drop to the ground.
Uli Key #1
Reverse roll and run forward past the statue. Turn Lara to the left and run forward. Turn right and run up the ramp. Stay on the right side and run to the top of the ramp. Jump up and grab the threshold of the doorway. Vault up into the doorway and run inside. Turn right at the first alcove and step forward to pick up a Uli Key (3). Reverse roll and exit the alcove by running forward and turn left. Run forward and vault up to the threshold. Run forward and drop down to the ramp below.

Turn left and run forward across the chamber. Turn left before Lara gets to the metal grate. Use the Uli key in the lock to open the dual metal gratings in the tunnel to the right. Side step to the right and vault up into the newly opened tunnel. Step forward and climb up the stone ladder. When Lara reaches the top, shift to the left and release from the ladder. Turn left and run forward to the metal gate. Pull the lever to the right to open the metal grate. The path ahead leads to an area that Lara visited earlier.

Reverse roll and angle Lara to the left. Run through the opening that overlooks the antechamber. Lara will drop down to a platform outside the opening. Turn left and run forward to the corner2 and pull the lever. It appears to do nothing, but it works in combination with another switch. Reverse roll and run to the other end of the ledge. Turn right and take a standing jump back up into the passage. Run forward across the passage and turn right. Step forward and slide down the ramp. Turn right and run forward to drop to the blue stone floor of the next room. Run across the room and step up onto the step in the far left corner. Turn right and pull the lever to open gates elsewhere and also the double doors to exit this room.

Turn right and run forward. Turn left and run forward through the double stone doors. Run forward, across the antechamber, and angle left when Lara passes between the statue and the pillar. Enter the bright opening on the left. Enter the next room and run across the room. Turn right, climb up the stone ladder and pull up to a ledge with five buttons, each surrounded by symbols which forms a food-chain puzzle.

Examine each button and notice that the upper symbol is always that of a human. The two symbols to either side of the button is either an ox, a bird, a plant or a fish. The lowest symbol will also either be a plant, fish, ox, or bird. The order of the symbols from top to bottom must be a valid food-chain for buttons that should be activated. The correct buttons to push from left to right is the first one [human eats oxen, oxen eat vegetation], the second [human eats fowl, fowl eats fish], and fifth button [human eats fowl, fowl eats vegetation].

When Lara pushes the three correct buttons the metal gate below will open. Hop backwards and safety drop to the ground. Sidestep to the left and enter the newly opened gates. Turn left and step forward. Then draw pistols and turn right. Step forward onto the bridge and run forward until Lara is just past the first arch. Open fire on the stingers3 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21) that emerge from hive on the right. When firing on the stingers do not step backwards back into the archway.

When the stingers stop coming out of their nest, then walk forward to the end of the broken bridge, past the second archway and turn left. Take a running jump and grab to reach the ledge on the side of this cavern. Run forward and collect a crystal (4). Reverse roll and walk back to the edge of the ledge. Turn left and walk to the snow slope and take a standing jump up the slope. Walk forward to the other end of this ledge and jump up and grab the ledge above. Pull up onto the upper ledge and turn right. Aim Lara at the upper ledge on the third arch and take a running jump and grab to reach it.
SECRET #1
Turn right and locate the stinger nest beyond the second archway on the left wall of this cavern. Light a flare and toss it into the space between the third and second archway. The flare will expose and invisible block between the two arches. Take a running jump to the first invisible block. Sidestep all the way too the right, walk forward to the very edge of the invisible block, and angle Lara to the right. Aim Lara at the corner of the second archway and take a step backward, away from the corner. Take a standing jump to the corner of the second archway. Walk forward and face the stinger nest.

Walk forward toward the stinger nest as far as Lara can go. Light another flare and toss it into the space in front of the stinger nest to locate the second invisible block. Take a standing jump to the second invisible block and turn left. Walk to the very edge of the invisible block and take a hop back to perform a running jump into the cave, which is SECRET #1. Pick up the two small Medi Packs (5, 6) in the mouth of the tunnel. Step inside the tunnel and turn right to pick up two sets of Desert Eagle clips (7, 8) and some grenades (9). Turn around and step back to the mouth of the stinger nest. Have Lara make her way back to the third arch by way of the invisible blocks.

Take a running jump out of the nest to the invisible block. Angle Lara to the right and take a standing jump back to the second arch. Walk forward and toss a flare to find the next invisible block. Take a standing jump to the invisible block, and then take a running jump back to the third arch.
Head to the side of the arch on the other side of the break in the bridge. Turn away from the edge and safety drop down to the bridge. Lara won't be able to hang onto the edge, and immediately drop down to the bridge. Reverse roll and run forward to where the bridge ends at the rock wall. Turn left and drop off the bridge into a tunnel and pick up a small Medi Pack (10). Reverse roll, and hop back onto the bridge. Run across the bridge and drop off the other side of it.

Turn left and run into the rocky tunnel that passes though the cave-in that blocks off the bridge. Turn left again and run forward until the tunnel opens to the rest of the bridge. Turn right and step out onto the bridge. As soon as Lara steps onto the bridge two Tinnos beasts will charge out from the far end of the bridge. There isn't quite enough room on the bridge to fight the two beasts, so run diagonally to the left across the bridge and drop off the left side of the bridge to a rock ledge below.

Quickly walk backwards and sidestep to the left until Lara is in the corner nearest to the bridge and the rock slope on the left. Turn left and wait, and eventually each of the two Tinnos beasts (22, 23) will step out onto the rock ledge and attempt to launch fireballs from their tails down at Lara, but Lara should be safe at the corner of that ledge. Draw pistols and kill the beasts, crouching down to avoid the fireballs or the exploding beasts as necessary.

When both beasts are dead, turn left and jump up and grab the bridge and pull up onto the bridge. Turn left and run forward to the end of the bridge. As Lara steps forward into the next passage, the two baskets will light and start swinging back and forth. Time a run past each basket. When Lara reaches the next courtyard, turn right and run to the opening and take a running jump up into the passageway. Draw pistols and reverse roll. Kill a swarm of stingers4 (24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29) that will emerge from a nest above and to the left. Reverse roll and run up the steps and turn left. Run up the rest of the steps into the next chamber.

In the next chamber, there is a beam that streams down the middle of the room. At the base of beam of light are four receptacles, and leading from the beam of light on the upper platform are four walkways that lead to four elemental rooms, as indicated by the markings to each side of the opening. Lara can complete the four rooms in any order.

If Lara turns right and steps into the earth room, the gate will close behind her. As Lara runs into the tunnel, a gate will slam shut. Walk forward, past another closed gate, and Lara will come to a cavern full of quicksand. Run forward into the quicksand and hug the right wall. Soon the quicksand will get shallow and continue hugging the right wall pressing forward until Lara is past a carved symbol on the wall. The quicksand should be shallow enough to draw pistols. Turn left and kill stingers4 (30, 31, 32, 33, 34) that will attack from above. Continue hugging the right wall and wading through the quicksand and Lara will pass another carving. When Lara passes the third carving, Lara will have to turn left and then back to the right to get around a rock ledge. At the next opportunity, turn right and vault up onto a ledge.
Turn left and then angle Lara further to the left. Take an angled standing jump over the small area of quicksand adjacent to the ledge up to a triangular ledge above. Turn left and walk out to the outside corner of the triangular ledge. Take a standing jump over the quicksand to the rock structure in the middle of the room. Turn left and look for a crawlspace in the wall just left of the third rock carving that Lara passed earlier. Take a running jump to the ledge below the crawlspace. Side step to the left and pull up into the crawlspace.

Crawl forward, stand, and drop down to ledge below. Pick up a small Medi Pack (11) and then turn right and pull the lever to drop a block down in a room she visited earlier. Turn right and vault up into the crawlspace and run forward. Turn around, crouch down, and crawl backwards to have Lara lower herself down to the ledge outside. Turn around and angle right to take a running jump back to the stone structure in the middle of the cavern. Turn right and take a standing jump back to the ledge that Lara first vaulted out of the quicksand onto.
Turn left and vault up to the next step. Run forward and vault up to the next ledge. Run forward and turn left. Angle Lara to the right run up the slope toward the torch and kill another stinger (35) that's hanging around the torch. Continue to the top of the cavern and turn left. Run along the next tunnel and turn left once more. Run forward across the rock bridges to the rock structure in the center of this cavern and continue across the second rock bridge into a small cavern.
Oceanic Mask #1
Run forward and vault up onto the pedestal. Pick up the first Oceanic Mask (12) which will trigger an earthquake which will drain the quicksand from the cavern below. Reverse roll and drop down off the pedestal. Walk forward onto the rock bridge. Rocks will drop from the ceiling, but Lara will not be hurt. When Lara gets to the center of the rock structure, she will need to take a standing jump over the debris.

Continue walking along the other rock bridge and more rocks will fall. Lara will need to take a standing jump over the last pile of rocks. Turn right and run down the tunnel. Angle Lara to the left and run forward to the torch and turn right. More rocks will drop from the ceiling, so quickly run forward and stop short before Lara falls into the lava pit below. Take a standing jump over the pit and run forward and angle Lara to the right and run down to the tunnel and turn right. Run forward and drop to the ledge just above where the quicksand used to be.

Turn right and take a running jump to the ledge across the chasm, and immediately hop backwards and hang from the ledge to avoid the rock that will drop from the ceiling. Pull back up to the the ledge and walk forward a few steps. Angle Lara to the right and take a jump to the ledge protruding from the central rock structure. Walk forward to the far end of the ledge. Angle Lara to the right, but not to far to the right to avoid bumping Lara's head against the rocks above on the right. Take a running jump and have Lara twist to the right in midair until Lara lands on a small triangular ledge. Then immediately run into the tunnel on the right to avoid more rocks that will fall from the ceiling.

Step forward and the gate to the ladder is now open, so turn right and take a standing jump and grab to reach the ladder. Climb all the way down the ladder and turn left. Run forward and vault up onto the ledge at the end of the passage and the earthquake will stop. Turn left and run forward and then turn right and slide down the ramp. Lara will be standing in front of two more swinging flaming baskets. Stand on the right side of the passage and crawl under the first flaming basket into the alcove on the right to pick up Desert Eagle clips (13). Turn left and wait until the basket swings away and crawl to the area between the two baskets. Time a run past the second basket and pull the lever on the right to open a trapdoor above.

Turn left and run forward. Turn right and climb up the ladder through the newly opened trapdoor and pull up to the ledge above. Wait a moment and the trapdoor will close behind Lara after she climbs up. Turn around and step to the alcove on the left. Step forward and the gate will open automatically for Lara as she approaches. Step through the gate and it will close behind Lara. Turn right and run forward to the corner. Turn left and run past the beam of light and up the stairs.

Take a hairpin turn to the left. Run down the long walkway toward the beam of light, and run around to the opposite side of the beam of light. Head forward along the next walkway and enter the fire room. Climb onto the block on the right and Lara will look at the map on the ceiling. Light a flare and four of the blocks will light up to reveal the safe pillars. After making note of the blocks, drop off the carved stone block.

Turn and face the room of pillars. Side step to the left and line Lara up with the closest pillar on the far left. Take a running jump to it. Angle Lara slightly to the right and take another running jump over the pillar ahead, to the one against the wall. Turn right and take a running jump and grab to reach the short pillar against the back wall. Pull up and notice that the pillar to the right that was formerly aflame has extinguished. Turn right and walk to the edge of the pillar and line Lara up with the middle of the higher pillar that has just been extinguished. Take a hop back and then a running jump up to the pillar. Lara should land just about in the center of it, so quickly grab the large Medi Pack (14) and shotgun shells (15) and back flip to the safe pillar before the pillar ignites again.

Now sidestep to the right and aim Lara at the near right corner of the pillar that the current pillar controls. Take a standing jump to the pillar, and quickly take an angled run up to the left and take a running jump to the final pillar. Take a standing jump over the trapdoor just ahead. Step forward and Lara will see a large Medi Pack. When Lara steps down to grab it, a spiked barrel will roll down so take a hop back5.

Now drop into the trapdoor and slide down to a ledge below. Walk forward and turn right and examine the next room. There are four fire blowing statues with invisible blocks in front of the first three statues. Take a standing jump and grab to reach the first invisible block. When the flames from the statue begins to recede, quickly pull up and take a standing jump and grab to reach the second invisible block. Again, wait for the flames to recede and pull up and take a standing jump and grab to reach the third invisible block. Shimmy to the right, and when the flame recedes, pull up and turn right. Take a standing jump and grab to reach the ledge on the side wall. Pull up and step forward to pull the lever that disables the fourth statue.
Oceanic Mask #2
Reverse roll and walk forward to the edge of the ledge. Take a standing jump and grab to return to the third invisible block. Shimmy to the left, and when the flames from the statue recedes, pull up, turn right and take a running jump to the ledge in front of the deactivated fourth statue. The gate will open automatically when Lara lands on the ledge. Step through the gate, and a flaming basket will begin to swing in front of Lara. Simply crawl under the basket to the left of the pedestal and stand when Lara is clear of the flames. Stand, turn right, vault up onto the pedestal and a stone door will open. Collect the second Oceanic Mask (16) and run forward to drop off the pedestal. Run around the small statue, into the tunnel behind newly opened doorway and the doorway will close behind Lara.

Run forward down the tunnel, following it as it kinks to the right. Soon Lara will return to a familiar intersection of tunnels. Turn left and step forward, and the gate will open again. Step through the gate, and it will slam shut behind Lara. Turn right, run forward, turn left, run past the light beam and up the stairs. Take a hairpin turn to the left at the top of the stairs and head back down the long walkway back to the light beam.

Turn right step forward through the doorway into the water room. A gate will slam shut behind Lara after she passes through. Walk forward to the end of the tunnel and look down to examine the next room. There are rotating blades in the room and a second set of rotating blades in the water below. Turn around and hang from the tunnel. When a blade turns past, drop into the water. Surface and tread water over to the back wall where there is a ledge. Pull up onto the ledge in a crouched position. Turn right and crawl into the crawlspace. Crawl forward until Lara can stand. Step forward and drop into a small pool and dive down to the bottom. Pick up a large Medi Pack (17), and surface. Crawl back through the opening and have Lara lower herself into the water.

Now dive underwater and wait for the right timing and swim past the underwater blades into a tunnel. Follow the tunnel until Lara reaches a larger underwater cavern with another another rotating blade in front of four tunnels. Swim into the left tunnel and surface for air. Dive back down and pull the lever on the wall to open a timed trapdoor in the right tunnel. Swim straight upwards and surface for a in a small air pocket. Lara can look around to examine the hazards in the water below. The best way to get past the blade is to swim diagonally across the path of the blade in the same direction as the rotation. Dive down and swim to the left and collect Desert Eagle clips (18) from the beam between two rotating blades, return for air, and then Uzi clips (19) from the beam between the other two rotating blades.
Oceanic Mask #3
After collecting the Uzi clips, swim into the alcove with the lever and pull the lever to open a grate below. Flip turn and time a swim past the one blade, and then wait for the right timing to swim past the second blade. Surface for air if necessary, and dive down to the very bottom of the underwater cavern. Swim along the floor of the cavern and Lara should be able to swim past the blades unharmed into the newly opened tunnel. surface and pull out of the deep water and run forward. Pick up the third Oceanic Mask (20) and turn right. Drop off the pedestal and run forward to collect the crystal (21), and pull the lever on the left6.

Reverse roll and exit this alcove and drop back into the water. Swim back along the bottom of the cavern and swim past the four blades in the room outside. Enter the the tunnel on the far end of the room and turn right. Swim down and pull the lever on the left wall to open a gate below. Flip turn and swim down and to the left into the crevice. Once Lara is past the newly opened gates, collect the MP5 clips (22). Swim forward and Lara will be back in the room with four tunnels. Swim along the bottom of the cavern and enter the bottom tunnel. Swim forward and turn right to enter the open gate. Swim through the gate and the current will suck Lara down a tunnel that spirals to the right.

When Lara surfaces, step forward and drop into the water beyond the shallow part. Swim forward and into the crevice on the left. Follow the tunnel as it bends to the right and up a long shaft. Pull up and run forward to pull the lever and drop open the trapdoor that Lara is standing on. Turn left and run up the slope and Lara will once again be at a familiar intersection. Turn left and head through the gate that will open automatically for Lara and shut behind her. Back in the room with the light beam, turn right, run to the corner, turn left, run past the light beam and up the stairs. Take a hairpin turn to the left and run along the long walkway toward the light beam. Turn left and enter the last open passage which is the air room.

Once Lara steps into this last room, the gate will slam shut locking her inside. Soon Lara will come to an intersection of three tunnels, one straight ahead, one to the left and one to the right7. Run straight ahead, past a tunnel with a torch on the right, and turn left at the intersection just before the end of the tunnel where some crystals are embedded in the right wall. Run forward and the tunnel will intersect with another tunnel. Turn right and run around the corner to the left. Run forward past an adjoining tunnel on the right and turn left at the corner. Run forward into the dead end and pick up Uzi clips (23).

Reverse roll and run forward and turn right. At the adjoining tunnel, turn left and enter the next tunnel. There is a torch on the left, but turn right and run forward. At the first adjoining tunnel on the left, turn to enter it, run forward, draw weapons and turn left at the next adjoining tunnel. There is a torch at the end of the tunnel. Run forward and turn right just before the torch. Run forward and take out a stinger (36) that will attack from the left, back flipping back down the tunnel if necessary. After the stinger is dead, continue forward to the end of the tunnel, past a kink to the left. Lara will come to a dead end with two faces carved into the wall. Push the lower face, which is a block, forward to reveal a alcove on the left. Enter the alcove and collect a small Medi Pack (24) and box of flares (25).

Reverse roll, exit the alcove and turn right. Run back down the tunnel, past the kink to the left until Lara returns to the torch. Turn left and run to the end of the tunnel. Turn left and run forward to the end of the tunnel. Turn right and run forward to the end of the tunnel where there are crystals embedded in the wall. Turn left and enter the alcove and collect a box of shotgun shells (26).

Reverse roll, exit the alcove, and turn right. Step forward, turn left and run all the way to the end of the tunnel, turning right once and left just before Lara reaches the torch. Step forward, turn left, turn right, and step forward again. At the next intersection, turn left and step forward past some crystals embedded on the left wall. At the next intersection turn right and run forward. The next intersection will be where Lara entered the maze.

Turn left and run forward to the end of this side tunnel. Follow it, turning left at the crystals embedded in the right wall and then turn right just after the crystals embedded in the right wall. Step forward and turn left at the next intersection. Step forward and immediately turn right, step forward, and turn left again. At this point, turn right again, and run forward, past a torch in an alcove on the right. Lara will run past crystals embedded on both the left and right walls, then turn right. Immediately turn left and run forward. Follow this tunnel to the very end as it turns left, kinks left, and then kinks back to the right. Pick up a small Medi Pack (27) at the end of this tunnel.

Reverse roll and run back down the tunnel, following the tunnel as it kinks to the right, then kinks back to the left and then turns right. At the intersection with the next tunnel, turn right and run forward. The tunnel will kink to the right where some crystals are embedded in the wall on the left and then turns left. At the intersection with the next tunnel, turn left step forward, and turn right. Run to the end of the tunnel and pick up a set of grenades (28).

Reverse roll and run back down the tunnel. Turn left and when Lara comes to the crystals embedded in the wall ahead, turn left. Run forward, turn right and continue forward until Lara comes to a torch. Continue to the corner and turn right. Run up the slope until Lara comes to the spiked barrel. Turn left and vault up onto the ledge on the left. Turn right and start running up the slope. As soon as the spiked barrel above starts to roll, side flip to the right. When Lara lands on the opposite slope, the barrel above will begin to roll down, so when the spiked barrel approaches, side flip back to the left. Run forward a few more steps and another spiked barrel will roll down. Side flip to the right and allow the barrel to roll past. Without stepping forward, side flip back to the left and thus avoiding the last barrel.
Oceanic Mask #4
Run the rest of the way up to the slope and vault up onto the pedestal. When Lara steps onto the pedestal, a stone door on the right will open. Pick up the last Oceanic Mask (29). Turn right and drop off the pedestal and enter the open doorway. When the door closes, turn left and run forward down a ramp and drop down a long shaft into a pool. Turn right and swim forward and surface. Turn left and pull up out of the water. Run forward and turn right when Lara reaches the gate. Run forward, and the gate will open automatically.

Turn right and run to the corner. Turn left and run past the beam of light to the stairs. Run up the stairs and enter the tunnel that leads into this room. Follow the tunnel and turn right. Run forward and drop into the next room.
SECRET #2
Lara will notice a block that she dropped to the floor earlier. Push the block forward once and climb up onto the block. Turn right and take a standing jump and grab to reach the stone ladder on the wall. Climb up the ladder and pull up into the opening at the top. Drop down into the next room, which is SECRET #2. Step forward to the flaming basket and crouch down. Crawl under the basket and into the crawlspace. Collect a crystal (30) and pick up a large Medi Pack (31). Turn around and crawl out of the alcove and past the flaming basket. Vault up to the opening and turn around. Climb down the ladder and safety drop to the room below.
Turn left and run forward into the tunnel on the other side of the room. Turn left and drop down to the lower part of the tunnel. Run forward and take a hairpin turn to the right. Pull the lever to open the gate at the end of the tunnel. Turn left and step forward through the gate. The gate will slam shut behind Lara after she steps through it. Do not step any further into the room. Ahead, to the left and right are gates each with a beast behind each one.

Draw pistols side step all the way to the right and step forward. When the gates open step back and take a side flip to the left. Lara should land on the ledge that flanks the entrance as the first Tinnos beast (36) enters the room. Side flip back to the right, while firing and continue firing while alternatingly side flipping left and right until the first beast explodes. Lara should be able to easily kill the first beast with just pistols. Now if Lara doesn't end up on the block that is to the left of the entrance, then take a side flip to the left.

Put away pistols and turn left. Run forward, dropping down off the block. Turn right when and then vault up onto the block beside the gate on the left. Both the left and right gates will slam shut while the two beasts behind each gate will awaken. Turn and face right and draw weapons. After a few moments, the opposite gate will open, releasing the second Tinnos beast (38). Start side flipping to the left and then back to the right while firing. Continue side flipping back and forth while firing8.

Eventually the gate just behind Lara will open, releasing the third Tinnos beast (39). Keep side flipping left and right and the beast will try to launch a few fireballs from close range but will eventually run out into the room to get a better shot. Continue firing and flipping until this third beast explodes.

When all three beasts are dead, step forward and slide down to the center of the room. Turn around and enter the gate. Turn right and step down. Pull the lever to open a trapdoor in the room. Reverse roll and exit the gate to return to the main room. Run out to the middle of the room and take a hairpin turn to the left and vault up onto the grey block. Turn right and take a standing jump and grab to reach the trapdoor that Lara just raised.

Pull up and run forward. Turn right and walk all the way to the end of the ledge. Take a standing jump across the gateway and run forward. Vault up onto the block at the corner and turn right. Run forward and turn left at the crawlspace. Crawl forward into the next room which has ledges and levers all around the room. Before reaching the first swinging flaming basket, turn left and take a running jump to the ledge on the left Crouch down and crawl into the crawl space and pick up Uzi clips (32) and a box of flares (33). Crawl back out and turn left. Take a standing jump to the grey block just below the platform that extends from the wall.

Turn right and step forward and pull up to the platform above. Turn left and crawl into the crawlspace and pull the lever which will lower one of the platforms outside. Crawl back out of the crawlspace and turn left. Take a running jump to the last platform on this upper level and crawl into the crawlspace. Pull the lever to raise two of the platforms outside and crawl back out of the tunnel. Turn right and take a running jump back to the other platform. Drop off the far side of the platform to a grey stone block below. Step forward and drop down to the stone ledge below. Step forward once more and drop to one of the platforms that Lara just raised.

Take a running jump to the other platform that Lara just raised, and then run forward to drop down to a solid platform below. Turn right and take standing jump, from the edge of the platform, down to another ledge below. Step forward and drop down to the ledge below. Turn left and pull the lever to raise a ledge above Lara. Turn left and vault up onto the ledge. Step forward and drop down to the ground beyond. Draw pistols and turn left. Open fire on stingers (40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53) that will emerge from a nest in the left wall. Turn left and climb back up to the ledge Lara just dropped off of.

Turn around and take a standing jump and grab to reach the wide platform. Turn left and walk forward to the end of the platform. Take a standing jump and grab to return to a platform that Lara raised earlier. Turn left and take a standing jump to the platform that Lara raised earlier. Pull the lever, and immediately take a side flip to the left as the platform that Lara was standing on drops out from beneath her and another one across the room is raised. Lara will take a little damage if she falls down to the platform below.

Reverse roll and walk forward. Take a standing jump and grab to return to the platform. Take a running jump to the platform in the corner. Turn around and walk forward and jump up and grab to reach the stone platform above. Pull up onto the stone ledge and then vault up onto the stone block. Step forward and jump up, grab and pull up to the platform above. Crawl into the crawlspace and raise the lever to raise a platform to allow Lara access to the platform that Lara raised earlier.

Crawl out of the tunnel and turn right. Drop down to the stone block below, step forward and drop down to the stone platform below the stone block. Angle left and take a standing jump to the ledge that Lara just raised. Turn left and walk forward to the edge of the platform. Take a single step backwards and take a standing jump forward and Lara will land on the ledge below the walkway. Turn left and jump up and grab the underside of the walkway and swing across to the alcove. Pull the lever to raise a platform just outside the alcove and also open the double doors below.
SECRET #3
Reverse roll and walk to the edge of the walkway. Angle Lara to the left and take a standing jump to the platform that she just raised. Turn right and walk to the edge of the platform. Jump up and grab the walkway. Pull up to the walkway and turn right. Vault up onto the block and run to the end of the hall. The next part is a long and difficult timed sequence, so this would be a good place to save the game.

Pull the lever and immediately hit the look key to cancel the cinematic view. Reverse roll and sprint down the hallway. When Lara is near the end of the walkway, turn left and try to run off the walkway as close to perpendicular to the walkway as possible. Press the action key to adjust Lara's trajectory and land her in the pool below. Flip turn and surface and pull out of the pool. Run across the room and enter the double doors, taking running jumps to hurry Lara along the way.

Turn right after passing through the double doors and run through the next room with the shallow pools. Continue running and taking running jumps through the room as a couple of stingers emerge. When Lara passes the statue, angle her to the left wall. Enter the hallway in the back left corner and turn right. Climb the ladder and shift to the left at the top. Release in the hallway above and turn left. Run part way down the hallway and turn right. Pull the lever to open the gate, turn left and run through the gateway back into the room with the beam of light.

Turn right and run past the beam of light and up the stairs continuing to take running jumps. Run into the tunnel and turn right. Take running jumps down into the next room and turn left. If Lara's been doing good, then she can take the time to carefully time a couple of runs past the flaming baskets. Run down the bridge and when Lara nears the end, drop off the right side of the bridge. Reverse roll and drop to the ground, sliding down a couple of slopes. The slopes slide Lara to the right, so turn left and run forward into the open doorway, into SECRET #3, and collect a crystal (34) and Desert Eagle clips (35) and a large Medi Pack (36).

Reverse roll and walk forward and pull the lever down and raise it again to open the doorway. Step out of the alcove and head back to the room with the shallow pools by running forward out of the secret alcove, and forward. Run up the the slope as far as Lara will go, and take a standing jump toward the flat ledge which is to the right of bridge support. Lara will land on a tiny ledge just in front the flat ledge. Vault up onto the flat ledge and walk forward. Turn right and take a standing jump and grab to reach the flat ledge to the right of the platform. Pull up, turn left and walk forward along the left edge of the icy ledge. When Lara will walk no further, angle her to the left and a stand jump and grab to reach the next icy ledge. Pull up, turn left, run forward. Vault up onto the next ledge and walk forward. Jump up and grab the bridge and pull up.

Turn left and run down the bridge and duck down before Lara reaches the baskets. Crawl under the flaming baskets and when Lara clears the swinging baskets, stand, run forward and turn right to enter the passage to the room with the beam of light. Vault up onto the step, run up the stairs and turn left. Run down the stairs to the floor of the room. Run forward, past the beam of light, and turn left and enter the gate. Walk forward and when Lara reaches the end of the tunnel, side step to the right. Turn left and take a standing jump and grab to reach the stone ladder. Climb down the ladder and reverse roll. Run forward and turn left to return to the room with the shallow pools. If there are stingers in the room, then draw weapons and kill them from here, otherwise, run all the way across the room, past the two statues, back to the tunnel that leads to the room with the levers and ledges. Reverse roll.
Draw weapons then run across the room and reverse roll. Kill the stingers4 (54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88) that emerge from two nests in the room. In order to obtain all the kills, run forward, draw weapons, and enter the alcove to the right of the entry tunnel to alert a Tinnos beast (89) in the alcove in the back wall. Back flip and dodge while firing to kill the beast. From the entrance tunnel, run half way across the room and turn right. Enter one of the two alcoves in the middle of the right wall to alert a second Tinnos beast (90). Draw weapons, and immediately back flip away from the alcoves and perform evasive maneuvers while firing to kill the second beast. When things are quiet, enter the tunnel in the right back corner.
Uli Key #2
Turn right and vault up onto the ledge and pick up a second Uli Key (37). Drop down off the ledge and turn left to exit the tunnel. Run forward past the deep pool and angle Lara to the left and head back to the other corner. Enter the alcove and turn right. Climb back up the tunnel and turn right. Climb up the ladder and shift to the left to release to reach the tunnel above and run forward. Pull the lever to open the gate9. Step forward and use the Uli key in the lock, then continue into the room with the beam of light.

Place one Oceanic mask in each receptacle in the base of each pillar. When a mask is place in a receptacle, the pillar will rotate revealing a statue behind it. When the fourth statue is revealed, the beam of flight will turn off. Drop into the hole that the beam of light was blocking and run forward and slide down the ramp to enter the meteorite cavern.



Lara slides down into the meteorite cavern to witness Dr. Willard placing the final artifact in its receptacle. The meteorite begins to rise from a pool of lava in the center of the cavern and the entire cavern begins to shake. The voices of the sailors echo in Lara's head as she stumbles and falls off the high platform to the ledge below.

Willard walks up to the field of radiation. He looks back at Lara defiantly, then turns back toward the radiation. He leans forward and falls into the meteorite crater.

Lara covers her mouth with both hands in horror. She walks to the edge of the pool and looks into the crater. Lara doesn't see any movement from within the pool of lava and assumes that Willard is dead. She turns and walks away. Behind her, Willard climbs out of the pool of lava. Transformed, Willard is now some kind of spider creature. He glares at Lara with vengeance in his eyes. (follow plot)

Footnotes:
  1. The number of kills you receive when you complete this level may vary from our numbers depending on how you handle the stingers. If you deal with each stinger nest the way we describe in this walkthrough, which is to run past each nest's trigger point once, and only once, then draw weapons and fire at stingers until stingers cease to emerge from the nest, then you can consistently manage to get 90 kills for this level.

  2. Some people say that, after running up to this switch, if you look at the top edge of the computer screen, with Lara standing squarely in front of the switch, the top edge of the computer screen cuts off the pattern above the switch and the portion of the pattern that remains looks like a "1", "2", and a "5" which is the correct combination of buttons to push in the later puzzle. Personally, I don't see it.

  3. If at this point you do not hop backwards, and then run forward past the trigger point, but instead stand your ground and continue to fire at the stingers. You will find that after exactly 21 stingers have emerged, they will stop emerging from the nest.

  4. See footnote 3 about the stingers. For the stingers in the room past the bridge, you will find the stingers end after 6 are killed. In the earth room, 5 stingers appear while Lara is in the quicksand. In the room with the switches and ledges, 14 stingers will emerge from the nest. In the room with the shallow pools, 35 will emerge from two different openings.

  5. There is no legitimate way to collect this large Medi Pack, but Lara can attain it by employing the clipping bug. When the spiked barrel comes to a rest, it will no longer be dangerous. Head toward one corner of the spiked barrel and run at the barrel and take running jumps. Soon Lara will land in the space at the corner. Angle back toward the Medi Pack and continue to take running jumps and Lara will begin to pass through the barrel. Soon she will be close enough to grab the large Medi Pack (38), bringing the total number of pickups to 38. If Lara pops out of the barrel on the far side after picking up the Medi Pack, use the same method to work her way back.

  6. Donald MacDonald reports that when playing TR3 on his PlayStation, he did not encounter this lever and the door on the far end of the pool was already opened.

  7. This is a maze much like the Caves of Kaliya. If you get lost, you can find your way through by using the "right/left hand rule". If you're not familiar with what I mean, read the first footnote for the Caves of Kaliya walkthrough. If you're not interested in all the pickups, skip to the paragraph in the walkthrough that begins , "Turn left and run forward to the end of this..." Instead of turning left, turn right.

  8. If Lara is using pistols, then the third gate will open, releasing the last beast before Lara kills off the first. If Lara is persistent and careful, she can still kill all three beasts without taking any damage and using pistols only.
