Aldwych
Items: 59
Kills: 29
No trip to London is complete without a ride on the Underground, London's subway system. Allow us to suggest the old Piccadilly Line, which runs from Cockfosters to Heathrow Airport, because it has a lot of character. Along the way be sure to check out the Holborn to Aldwych spur.
Sights to See
The Holborn to Aldwych branch is one of the more unusual features of the Piccadilly Line. Although this branch has double tracks, it is only connected to the eastbound Piccadilly. Once trains ran from Aldwych to Finsbury Park to serve theatre goers, but that service was withdrawn in 1910. This branch now has very little traffic.

The platform at Aldwych was then used for design work, but to avoid the cost of replacing the lifts at Aldwych, the Holborn-Aldwych was closed in 1994. This is unfortunate because Aldwych had a lot of character. Now much of the platform is in disrepair.

Visitors are not generally allowed in the tunnels or the platform, but people are still interested in the old station because of it's appearance in several movies. Far be it for us to suggest tourists risk their lives to catch a glimpse of the old glory of the Piccadilly, but should you decide to wander the tunnels, do be careful of the trains. Although there is no regular traffic along this spur of the Underground, the district still runs a train down the tracks once in a while to park trains for storage or to perform maintenance on the trains.
Urban Life
It appears that a local street gang has made their home in the train platform and surrounding tunnels, and they keep some mongrel dogs as pets. Of course there is the usual subway vermin.
Souvenirs
There are three keys you will need to pick up first. One key will help you find some spare change so you can buy a ticket for the subway turnstiles. The two other keys will help you collect a Masonic Mallet which you will need to gain access to a subway train.
Hidden Treasures
There are five secrets in this level. It will be a while before you even come across the first. It will be easy to miss your opportunity to grab the first secret because you're going to be in a rush. Hope you saved your game before that. The second secret isn't hard to find if you tend to recklessly fire your weapons. In order to obtain the third secret, you need to find the Ornate Star to open the door that leads to it. The fourth secret is easy to miss, and you'll likely run right past it. The final secret is a bear to get, because it requires you to backtrack to the beginning of the level.
Hazards
The easiest way to die on this level will be to be run down by a train. Do not explore too deeply down the train tunnels. In some tunnels, green warning lights will turn red to indicate danger, while in other tunnels, you will receive no warning at all. If you see a single light in a train tunnel, don't run past it because it's guaranteed that a train will run you down if you pass it. There's at least one instance where you have to play "dodge the oncoming train". Aside from the trains, the level isn't that dangerous. There's lots of gang members, but they're easy enough to deal with. It's important that you head to the right set of tracks first, otherwise the only thing you're likely to die from is boredom as you wander around aimlessly around on the left side of Aldwych station.
