Thames Wharf
Items: 40
Kills: 26
The Thames Wharf is a somewhat contorted level so you will spent a lot of time getting back to the beginning of this level, but we thought things made sense. Here are hints to keep you from running around in circles.
Right Direction
Lara starts this level pointed in the right direction. There's plenty of places to explore right at the beginning of the level, but in order to proceed, you should follow Lara's nose and get down to the rope slide below, but you never actually need to use the rope slide to cross the alley. There's a lever that you need to throw in order to make the trek over to the warehouse worthwhile.
Warehouse
Once you're inside the warehouse, it's a simple matter of finding the guy who's got a key that you need to proceed. The guy you're looking for is near the top story of the warehouse. After he's down, you need to get back out to the alley. That's actually quite simple if you manage to find the button that opens the trapdoor near where you entered the warehouse.
Crawlathon
On the ledge just outside the warehouse, you'll find a switch that drops the trapdoor that you raised earlier. Why would you want to do that? Could there be something important down there? Absolutely. Find the crawlspace that leads to a button. The button will raise a protective guard over another button. From that point, you need to make your way back to the beginning of the level.
Look Ma, No Ropes!
From the beginning of the level, it's time to cross the alley again, this time without the use of the rope slide. A running jump will take you from a lower platform near the starting ledge to the small roof with the handrail above the balcony of the warehouse. From there, a little shimmying will get you on top of the warehouse.
Fork and Button
On top of the next building you can drop down the shaft, but you'll get incinerated by the flames below. Instead head down the long hallway to the next alley and go look for the button, whose guard you raised earlier. Pushing the button will raise the platform in the alley.
Flue Shots
The raised platform will give you access to a doorway, where you can use the flue key. Once inside, there's only one thing to do, but watch yourself. Although you've doused one flame, you've lit two more. Now that the shaft is relatively safe, you can backtrack through the crawlspace to the beginning of the level and make your way to the shaft that you avoided earlier.
Reservoir Dogs
Down the shaft and slide down the second alley. There's a tricky jump into the next little tunnel. Use the action key to try to grab, which will adjust your trajectory to land inside the tunnel rather than slamming into the wall above and falling to your death. Follow the next tunnel, and you'll drop into the next area which has three reservoirs.
Glass Half Empty
Whether you're an optimist or a pessimist, the fact of the matter is one reservoir is half filled while a second one is completely empty. There's nothing to be done in the first reservoir and you'll fall to your death if you try to get down to the bottom of the second. There's only one switch for you to throw, and sure enough, it fills the remainder of the first, and completely fills the second. Now you have access to a third empty reservoir, but that's not important. Check out the second reservoir. Not only are there a few items to pick up, but there's a lever that you can pull.
Lara Daiquiri
Okay, trapdoors open, and that rumbling hum isn't a freight train. It's a pair of giant propellers going at full speed. Unless you plan on sending Lara into the blender, then you need to slow down those propeller blades. Here's your hint: The propellers pumps water into the first reservoir.
Overgrown Vacuum Cleaner
Beyond the propellers you'll find a crawlspace that leads to an interesting part of this building. There's a room that is being constantly scoured by an automatic cleaning machine. There's a control panel in the middle of the room, and the way to activate it is to convince the cleaning machine to ram into the panel. This can be done by confusing it as it tries to follow it's preprogrammed path. Look for something to put in its way.
Fill'er Up
Shorting out the control panel gains you access to one of the two buttons in the control room. That button fills the third reservoir. Remember to get to the third reservoir, the second reservoir needs to be full.
Down the Drain
All that effort to fill up the third reservoir only to find a button that drains it again. Just lovely. Now how are you going to get back out of the third reservoir? Well, it's much too far down to the ground. Well, if you can't go down, try looking up.
Gimme a Refill
The last button in the control room has been made available. No question about what needs to be done now. Head back to the third reservoir and head down the tunnel in the bottom. Soon you'll be out of the reservoirs and you'll be ready to head back to the London night life.
Use Your Crane
From the flooded hall, follow the small tunnel to the wire mesh. A little climbing and you'll be back outside. Watch out for barb wire all the way. Look around when you're back outside. Clearly someone is intent on keeping people off of the roof of the building on the right since it's covered in barb wire, and so, of course that's where you want to go next.
Exit Stage Left
All this security on the roof. One has to wonder why. You're just a hop, skip and a jump away from the end of the level.
