Outside the building, a helicopter circles
around the building. A guard aboard the helicopter launches rockets
at the fire escape, which damages it.(follow
plot) Don't run around, but angle Lara to the right. Draw the HK gun and take aim on the head of the VCI cyber-trooper (1) standing on the fire escape above Lara. Take him out with a single headshot. The headshot doesn't manage to kill the cyber-trooper, but rather tips him over. He hits the guard rails of the fire escape, but it is unable to support the weight of the cybernetic suit, so he topples off of his perch and falls down the center of the spiraling fire escape stairs. Do not proceed down the fire escape, as the blast from the helicopter, and will collapse as Lara approaches. Angle back to the left and run up the fire escape. Turn right at the next landing and run up the next flight of stairs. Turn right and take a running jump to clear the section of the fire escape that has been blown away, and grab onto the landing ahead. Pull up and turn right. Run up the next flight of stairs and turn right once more at the next landing. The helicopter will now start shooting rockets at Lara, so keep her moving. Run up the next flight of stairs, which will collapse as Lara is running across them. Simply grab onto the stairs. |

SECRET #1
|
Climb down a little ways and shift to the left to enter an alcove.
Turn left, pick up the gold rose (1),
which is SECRET #1, and reverse roll. Run to the opening of the duct
that was blasted open by the helicopter. Don't worry about the flames
they appear to be harmless. Turn Lara to the left and angle her to out toward the broken section of the stairs. Take a standing jump and grab onto broken section of the fire escape. |

Climb up the broken section of the fire escape until Lara pulls up
onto the next landing. Another rocket will destroy more of the fire
escape. Turn right and run up the remaining part of the next flight
of stairs and take a jump over the broken section to reach the next
landing. Turn right and take a running jump to grab onto the next landing of the fire escape. Pull up and turn right. The next section of the fire escape will collapse when Lara steps onto it. Angle Lara so that she will run up the next flight of stairs from the lower right to the upper left. Run up the stairs, which will collapse away, and allow Lara to slide backwards down the stairs toward the center of the spiraling fire escape1. Grab onto the bottom edge of the collapsed stairs and pull up. Immediately backflip off of the broken stairs to land on the stairs below. Turn left, step forward, and take a standing jump back to the landing ahead. Turn right and take a running jump and grab onto the next landing. Turn right and take a running jump and grab onto the next higher landing, which now has a small fire burning on it. Don't worry about the flames, as they appear to be harmless. Step forward and kick2 through the cracked wall ahead to break through the weakened wall. Crouch down and crawl into the newly created crawlspace. Follow the crawlspace as it bends to the left and past a grate with fire burning behind it. Crawl forward into the room ahead and stand up. Turn right and run to the corner of this room and reverse roll. Lara may need to vault out of the crawlspace. Step forward and side step to the right side of this room. Locate the handle of the grate above and position Lara below it. Wait for the soldier to walk away to the right, and jump up and grab the handle and allow Lara's weight to pull it open. Quickly, turn right and pull up out of this opening, and draw the HK gun out in sniper mode. Take aim on the VCI mercenary (2) and quickly set up a headshot and take him out. After he falls, step forward. Lara hears a suspicious humming and calls Zip on the headset, "Got a feeling this isn't quite what it seems." Zip confirms Lara suspicions, "And I knew you weren't just a pretty face. Try infrared on the shades, girl."(follow plot) Equip Lara with the headset and take a look at the hallway to the right. Activate the infrared feature3 to see that there is a bank of lasers protecting the hallway ahead. Run forward and vault up onto the low crate and pick up a grappling gun ammo (2). Turn left, vault up to the higher crate and pick up a pair of HK Gun clips (3). Turn left and drop to the floor. Turn left once more and draw the HK gun in sniper mode. Take aim on the valve wheel at the far end of the hallway and shoot it off. The resulting stream of steam will reveal the location of the lasers in the hallway. Step forward up into the hallway but stop just before the first white line. The white lines on the floor of this hallway reveal the location of the lasers. Watch the lasers carefully. There is a longer deactivation period every other time the lasers deactivate. Use that period of deactivation to run past a bank of lasers. Wait for the first bank of lasers to hit it's long deactivation cycle, and quickly step through, but stop before reaching the next white line. Again, wait for the second bank of lasers to deactivate, and quickly run through before they reactivate. Repeat this process for the remaining three banks of lasers. When Lara is past the last bank of lasers, run forward and turn left. Run between the crates to the back wall and turn left. Climb onto the crate and turn left again. Vault up onto the tall crate and pick up a large Medi Pack (4). Run forward and drop to the ground. Proceed forward toward the elevator ahead. As Lara approaches it, the doors will open and a VCI mercenary (3) will emerge. Either draw the HK gun in burst mode and take him down while hopping backwards, or reverse roll, and climb back up to the crate behind the taller crate, where Lara can take a headshot to kill this soldier. When he's dead, proceed down the hallway and into the elevator. Press the panel on the right wall of the elevator to ride it to another floor. Draw the HK gun and put it in burst mode. Reverse roll, run to the other side of the elevator and turn right to wait for another VCI mercenary (4) to emerge. Take him out with two bursts from the HK gun as he comes around the corner. Run forward toward the glass door ahead. Of the two glass doors head, this will be the one on the left4. Take a hairpin turn to the left after entering to take the pair of HK gun clips (5) from the counter. Turn right, step forward toward the middle of this hallway and turn right at the button. When Lara presses the button, it will activate the target range. Lara must destroy all the targets before the targets cross the line in the middle of the target range to gain access to the second target range. However, completion of the second target range is optional. Make sure the HK gun is in sniper mode5 and press the button. Equip the HK gun and shoot the targets in the following order: center, left, right, far left, far right. If Lara manages to get all the targets before they cross the middle line on the floor of the target range, then she will gain access to the second target range, if not, simply destroy all the targets top open a door elsewhere. If Lara successfully completed the first target range and destroyed all targets before they cross the line in the middle of the target range, the door to the second target range will stand open. Turn right, and run to the end of the target range, turn right again and exit6. |

Turn left and enter run forward to the doorway leading to the second
target range. Turn left and step inside. Take a hairpin turn to the
right to pick up another pair of HK gun clips (6). Turn left, step forward and turn right at the button. When Lara presses the button, not only does targets appear, but also poison gas will begin to pour into the target range. This time Lara absolutely must shoot all the targets before they cross the line in the middle of the target range in order to open the door of the target range. Push the buttons and draw the HK gun. If Lara has been conservative with her ammo, putting it in rapid-fire mode may be expedient for completion of this target range. If Lara fails to destroy any of the first wave of targets before they cross the line in the middle of the target range, the last three targets will never appear, and Lara will suffocate in the target range. Shoot the targets as they appear in the following order: center, left, far right, right, left, far left, far right. The last three targets, which will consist of the center, left and right targets will appear together. If Lara manages to shoot them all in time, quickly turn left, run forward, and turn left again to exit the second target range. |

SECRET #2

Turn left and enter the armory. Run down the ramp and angle Lara to the left. Pick up a pair of HK gun clips (7), and a gold rose (8), which is SECRET #2. Reverse roll, and exit this room and return to the hallway, avoiding any of the weapons protected by the red lasers. | ||
| Enter the armory room to the right and angle Lara to the right. Run forward to pick up a pair of HK gun clips (9) off of the floor in front of the cross shaped platform in this room. Angle Lara back to the left and run to the back of the room to pick up a grappling gun ammo (10) off of the counter on the back wall. | |||
Grappling Gun
|
Reverse roll, and angle Lara to the left and run across this room to
the weapons behind the green lasers. Take a Grappling Gun (11) and immediately take two backflips
away. A VCI mercenary (5) will enter the armory. Draw the HK gun in burst or sniper mode and take this guy down. After he's fallen, turn right and exit the armory through the door in the back corner. Draw the HK gun in sniper or burst mode after Lara enters the storage room. A VCI commando (6) will emerge from behind a set of crates ahead and to the left. Lara cannot kill him with a single headshot because he is wearing a helmet with a bulletproof riot mask, so she must plug him with a few rounds in the chest. After the commando has fallen, angle Lara to the right and run to the crate in the far right corner of this storage room. Climb up onto the crate and turn left. Jump up and grab the tall stack of crates and pull up onto that crate to find a pair of HK gun clips (12). Draw the grappling gun and aim for the ventilation grate in the middle of the ceiling of this room. Fire off a round from the grappling gun, and its grappling claw will grab onto the vent, and a rope will dangle down from the vent. Angle Lara to the right and drop to the crate below. Turn left and drop to the ground. Turn left again and run forward to the low crate. Vault up onto the crate and turn around. Take a running jump and grab onto the rope. Allow Lara to wrap her feet around the rope and rotate Lara counter-clockwise ninety degrees so that she is facing the broken bricks on the wall ahead. Swing forward toward the wall, and wait until Lara wraps her feet around the rope again. Swing forward once more, and leap off the rope and grab onto a crevice in the wall. Shimmy to the right until Lara shimmies around corner and is beneath a ventilation duct. Pull up into the ventilation duct and walk up the ramp. Turn left and draw the HK gun in sniper mode. When Lara hits the ground, two VCI cyber-troopers (7, 8) will be stomping towards her with pulse weapons firing. Take aim on their heads and take each of them out with a single headshot. When both have fallen run forward down the hallway and turn right. Run down the hall and reenter the elevator. Turn left and activate the panel to ride back to the previous floor. Turn right and exit the elevator once Lara has arrived at that floor. Walk forward along the left side of the hallway and stop when Lara is about halfway down the hallway. There is a VCI mercenary (9) standing around the corner at in the area with the crates ahead. Take single steps forward, and check in the scope of the HK gun to see if Lara can target him. Once Lara is able to get a shot at him, take him out with a single headshot before he spots her. Proceed to the end of this hallway and turn left at the intersecting hallway. Use the previous method to get past the bank of five lasers and when Lara is in the hallway beyond, turn left and run forward. Drop through the open grate, run forward and turn right. Run forward to the crawlspace and turn left. Crouch down and crawl into the crawlspace. Follow the crawlspace as it winds to the right and reemerges in the outside fire escape stairwell. Stand up when Lara emerges on the landing on the broke fire escape. Turn left, step up onto the small section of the stairs and turn right. Draw the grappling gun and take aim on the lowest part of the broken fire escape that is hanging above Lara. The laser target on the scope of the grappling gun will turn green if Lara has targeted a surface on which the grappling gun will work. Fire a grappling hook to latch onto the fire escape. Take a running jump and grab onto the rope. Allow Lara to wrap her legs around the rope and slide down to the bottom. Swing forward once, and then wait until Lara wraps her legs around the rope. Swing forward once more and then leap off of the rope when Lara is at the apex of her swing that is closest to the wall ahead. Attempt to grab onto the opening. Lara will not actually grab the opening, but the attempt to do so will adjust her trajectory and cause her to land on a ramp beyond the broken bars. Lara will slide forward toward a fire. Leap off of the ramp and grab onto the edge of the ledge ahead. Pull up and step forward. Crouch down and crawl into the opening ahead. Turn right and crawl forward to the other end of the crawlspace. Angle Lara to the right and aim her for the stack of crates below outside the crawlspace. Flip out of the crawlspace onto the stack of crates and draw the HK gun in sniper mode. Take aim on a VCI mercenary (10) and take him out with a single headshot. If Lara arouses his attention or misses with the single shot, he will activate a gun turret. After he falls, angle Lara so that she is facing the lower crates diagonally across the room. Take a standing jump down to those crates and turn left. Run forward to first drop onto the lower crate and then onto the ground ahead. Run forward and throw the switch to open the door to the left. Side step to the left and run forward to pick up the large Medi Pack (13). Run forward to exit this storage room. Turn right in the hallway outside and run forward toward the elevators. Turn right just before reaching the elevators and press the button to open the doors to the elevators. Enter the elevators and turn right at the panel. Operate the panel to ride the elevator to another floor. Draw the HK gun in sniper mode when Lara arrives at the other floor. Step through the elevator doors and a VCI commando (11) and a VCI mercenary (12) will burst through the glass ceiling of this atrium and slide down on ropes. Take down the commando with a few shots from the HK gun while hopping back into the elevator. Lara can target the guard as he rounds the corner and kill him with a single headshot. Run forward, out of the elevator to the door at the top of the steps ahead. Turn left and Lara will be very interested in a grating high up on the wall above and to the right of the elevator. Turn and aim Lara for the rope on the right and take a running jump from the uppermost step to grab onto the rope. Allow Lara to wrap her legs around the rope and rotate her on the rope so that she is aiming for the top of the stack of crates. Swing forward once, and allow Lara to wrap her legs around the ropes. Swing forward a second time and leap off the rope to land on top of the crates. Step forward and jump up to grab the grate. Lara's weight will swing it open and a VCI commando (13) will be waiting for her in the duct above, while another VCI commando (14) will emerge from the doorway behind her and below. Quickly reverse roll and take aim on the commando on the ground and take him out. The commando above will not be able to target Lara when she is pressed against the wall. After the command on the ground falls, turn around and wait until the commando above turns his back. Jump up and take a few shots at him and repeat until he falls7. After both commandos are down, pull up into the duct and run forward. Follow the duct as it bends to the right and vault over the ledge in the middle of the duct. Run forward toward the button, but the floor below the button will drop out before Lara gets a chance to push the button. Lara will land on a slope and slide backwards to the lower part of this duct. Reverse roll, run forward and drop into the corridor below. Run forward until Lara reaches an intersection. The doorways ahead and to the right are protected by banks of lasers, so turn right and enter the next intersecting corridor. The area to the left is protected by a bank of lasers, so turn right once more. Crouch down and crawl into the crawlspace ahead. Turn left and crawl forward until Lara can stand. Turn right and climb up the ventilation grating until Lara can pull up into the duct above. Run forward and the ventilation grate ahead will automatically open as Lara approaches. There is a VCI cyborg (15) patrolling the room below. Angle Lara to the right and run out of the ventilation duct to land on a crate. Crouch down and grab the HK gun clips (14) on the crate. Turn all the way around, stand up, draw the HK gun and target a valve on a pipe near the ceiling. Shoot it out and water will pour into this room8 and also open a vent high up on the facing wall. Side step to the right and take a standing jump back into the duct and take a standing jump back into the ventilation duct. Run forward a few steps to get out of sight of the cyborg. Now Lara can begin the tedious process of destroying the cyborg. Turn around and step forward, but stay a step away from the opening of the ventilation duct. Draw the HK gun in either sniper or burst mode and take a few shots at the cyborg each time it appears. As the cyborg takes damage, its outer shell will get damaged and reveal the inner mechanical parts. Eventually the cyborg will being to spark and pop until the water short-circuits the cyborg. After the cyborg is dead, angle Lara to the right and run out of the duct to land on the crate. Do not drop into the water, as the sparking cyborg has electrocuted it. Turn Lara to the left and aim her for the lowest gray sloping ledge in the far corner. Take a running jump to the slope and leap off of the slope to land on the higher slope that is facing it9. Leap off of that slope to land on the next third and highest slope that is facing the second. Leap off of the third slope and Lara will land on the flat part of the duct beyond the second slope. Turn around and run forward toward the wall. Turn left and drop to the metal grate. Pick up grappling gun ammo (15) and run forward. Climb up on top of the duct that Lara was formerly standing in and turn left. Ready the grappling gun and take aim on the vent directly in the center of the ceiling above. Launch a grappling hook up to the vent to dangle a rope down in the middle of the room. Step forward toward the end of the ventilation duct, but stop two or three steps shy of the edge. Aim Lara for the rope and take a standing jump to reach it. If Lara is standing too close to the edge of the duct, she will overshoot the rope and miss it. Allow Lara to wrap her legs around the rope and slide down to the bottom of it. Swing forward once and allow Lara to wrap her legs around the rope again. Swing forward once more and as Lara reaches the apex of her swing closest to the open vent in the opposite wall, leap off the rope and grab onto the bottom of the vent opening. Pull up into the ventilation duct and run forward. Pull the lever to drain the water in the room below and shut off the water in the pipe, which will make it safe to walk around below. Reverse roll and run back to the mouth of this duct. Take a running jump and grab the rope. Slide down to the bottom of the rope and swing forward. Release when Lara is over the ventilation duct. Run forward and turn right. Step forward and drop down to the metal grate 10. |

Key Bit (left)

Turn right and run forward to the end of the black metal grate.
Safety drop off the end of it to land on the floor. Pick up the Key
Bit (left) (16) that the cyborg drops as
well as the large Medi Pack (17). Turn and climb back onto the crate. Angle Lara to the right and aim for the gray metal slope in the far corner again. Repeat the quadruple jump to land on top of the flat duct above the second slope. Turn right and take a standing jump up to the top of the other ventilation duct. Turn left, take a couple of steps back and aim Lara for the rope. Take a standing jump to the rope and allow Lara to wrap her legs around the rope. Swing forward and leap off of the rope and grab onto the opening ahead. Pull up into the opening, run forward and throw the switch again to turn the water back on, flooding the room, and also reopen the grate to allow Lara to exit. Reverse roll, run to the other end of this duct and aim Lara for the rope. Take a running jump and grab onto the rope. Slide down to the bottom of the rope and swing forward and release when Lara is over the ventilation duct ahead. Hop back and grab onto the edge of the ventilation duct. Release and grab onto the bottom edge of the ventilation duct11. Pull up into the duct and run forward. Drop down the shaft into the lower duct and turn left. Crouch down and crawl to the other end of the crawlspace and turn right. Crawl out of the crawlspace and stand up. The bank of lasers that were blocking the area ahead are now deactivated. When Lara runs down the next hallway, a helicopter will open fire using its machine guns. Ahead are several lower areas separated by walls with platforms on top of the walls. There is a large Medi Pack (18) in a crawlspace in the second lower area, and a couple of large Medi Packs (19, 20) in the third and fourth lower areas. Lara will probably lose more health trying to get these Medi Packs than they are worth, so it is probably in her best interest to ignore them. Run forward, and the helicopter will begin firing its machine guns12. Stay to the left side of this hallway. Take three running jumps over the first three drops, and a standing jump over the last drop and run forward into the lounge ahead. Turn left, enter the bar ahead and turn left. Run between the gap in the bar, turn right, step forward behind the safety of the bar and crouch down. Crawl forward until Lara reaches the alcove at the far end of the wall. Turn right, stand up and press the button. Zip will call over the headset, "Keep moving, girl. You got too many escorts tonight." "You get used to it," Lara replies. "Where's the exit?" "Now, I got you an exit, but you got to promise not to ..." Zip replies, but static and the machine gun fire make it impossible to make out what he's saying.(follow plot) Quickly, turn right, crouch down and crawl back to the end of the bar with the gap. Stand, angle Lara to the left, and run past the bar and reenter the lounge. Quickly turn right and avoid another VCI cyborg (16) and run back into the long hallway with the drops. Take a running jump early to reach the first platform and take three more running jumps to reach the other end of the hallway. Beside the helicopter's machine guns, the cyborg will be chasing Lara now as well. The area ahead is blocked by a bank of lasers again, so turn right, sprint up the ramp and down the other side. Run forward, over the grating into the room ahead. Turn left, exit that room and run forward. Turn left and run into the small tunnel ahead. Lara will soon reach an intersecting tunnel that leads down. Run down the tunnel and turn left at the bottom. Wait for the cyborg to run past overhead and throw the switch to trap it in the corner room. Turn left and run back up to the main tunnel. Turn left and proceed up the steps an intersection. The doors ahead and to the right are blocked by banks of lasers. Turn left run to the doorway marked by the sign, "Danger, Wear protective gloves." Run forward, and poison gas will flood the chamber. Quickly crouch down and crawl forward. Crawl forward toward the door ahead, and it will open automatically. Enter the doorway and crawl into the chamber ahead. Turn left and crawl forward to the doorway ahead. This doorway will also open automatically when Lara approaches it. Crawl forward, and stand up. Run forward and jump or vault up onto the platform ahead and throw the switch. Reverse roll, run forward and drop to the ground and crouch down again. |

SECRET #3

Turn left and crawl into the crawlspace in the wall ahead. Pick up the gold rose, which is SECRET #3 at the end of the crawlspace and turn around. Crawl back out of the crawlspace to return to the room and turn left. | ||

After Lara catches her breath, stand up and run forward. The door
ahead will open automatically. Run through the door and an VCI
commando (17) will emerge. Don't waste
any time fighting him now, just turn to the right and run past him
into the next room. Turn right and run to the doorway, which will open automatically. Run forward, and jump or vault up onto the ledge ahead and throw the lever. Throwing the second lever will stop the flow of poison gas into these four rooms and dump it all into the room where Lara trapped the cyborg, which she can see through the window on the left. Wait a moment and the cyborg will fall. After the cyborg is dead, throw the lever again, reverse roll, and run forward to drop to the floor of this room. Run forward and the door ahead will open automatically. Run forward into the room ahead and turn right. Run forward to return to the intersection with the banks of lasers, where the air is not poisonous. At this point, Lara can draw the HK gun, turn around and take out the commando from the safety of the doorway. Turn around, step forward and turn right and reenter the tunnel that Lara emerged from earlier. Run forward down the steps and turn right at the intersecting tunnel. Run to the bottom of the tunnel and turn left. Throw the switch to reopen the room where Lara trapped the cyborg in earlier. Turn left and run back up the tunnel to the main tunnel. |

Key Bit (right)

Turn right, run forward, and turn right once more to enter the room
where Lara trapped the cyborg. Pick up the Key Bit (right) (21) and turn right. Run forward, up the ramp,
and back down to where the helicopter is waiting. Quickly turn right and run forward to evade the machine gun fire from the helicopter. Reenter the tunnel ahead and turn right. Step forward and Lara will return to a previous intersection. The passages ahead and to the right are still blocked by lasers, so turn left and reenter the tunnel. At the end of the tunnel, turn around and take a jump to grab onto the ladder in the wall of the shaft. Climb all the way up the shaft until Lara returns to the ventilation duct high above the large atrium. Shift to the left until Lara can release safely into the upper section of the duct. Turn left, step forward and drop to the crates outside the duct. Zip cheers Lara over the headset, "Yeah girl! You done good! Now get your boney ass outta there! And hey, you stay in touch yeah? Maybe we gonna be pen friends." "Boney ass?" Lara huffs. "I doubt it, but I'll be in touch. Clear the area, Yank. I'm coming out."(follow plot) |

Helipad Access Key
|
Safety drop off of the crates to the floor of this atrium. Reverse
roll, run forward to the receptacle beside the closed door. Combine
the two key bits to form the Helipad Access Key. Place the key in the receptacle and side step to the right. Run forward through the doorway and up the ramp to the roof of the building. Bullets from the men chasing Lara riddle the door with holes. Suddenly, Lara kicks the door open and bursts through onto the roof. Runs forward toward the hang glider that she used to land on this building. Three cyborgs emerge on the roof and open fire on her, but they miss. She cartwheels over the hang glider, and grabs onto the handle while flipping over the edge of the roof. The cyborgs charge toward Lara's position, but she is already aloft. One of the cyborgs attempts to fire another shot at her as she floats down to an adjacent rooftop, but misses. Lara gracefully touches down on the roof of the shorter building across the street and keeps running, leaving the cyborg to curse himself. Back at the Croft Manor, the three friends stand around and raise their glasses in a toast to Lara. Jean-Yves makes the toast, "To absent friends." "Indeed," Winston agrees. "God rest her soul," Father Dunstan adds. Meanwhile, in Egypt, Von Croy's search goes on. The desert winds whip up the sand as Von Croy looks up from a schematic of the temple that they are trying to excavate. "Mister Von Croy! Mister Von Croy!" A young boy wearing a tunic and a turban calls, as he runs up to Von Croy. Von Croy turns to the boy as he emerges through the wind blown sand. "Come quickly!" The boy puts is arm around Von Croy's waist and Von Croy places his hand on the boys shoulder so that they will not get separated in the sand storm. They reach a familiar entrance to the temple, and the boy picks up a lantern. They proceed down the steps into the temple. The dark tunnels are illuminated only by the boys lantern. There is the sound of digging. "What is it, man? What have you found?" Von Croy asks the men digging. They produce a familiar brown object, and Von Croy commands impatiently, "Pass it to me. Pass it to me!" He holds the object to find that it is Lara's backpack. "We've found her!" He exclaims. |
