Crowbar
When Lara arrives near Trajan's Markets she will be at the end of a cobblestone street. Step forward and turn left to enter the first room. Draw pistols and blow apart the box ahead. Holster pistols and step forward to pick up the crowbar (1) that was inside the box.
LaserSight
Reverse roll, exit the room, and run across the street. Draw pistols and blow apart the box in this second room. Vault up onto the ledge and pick up the LaserSight (2). Lara can only carry one lasersight, so if she already has the lasersight, then it isn't necessary to pick up this item.

Reverse roll and run forward to exit this room. Turn right and run forward down the street past the next pair of openings along the street. Turn right when Lara reaches the next opening. Run forward to the corrugated aluminum door with the "Piricolo1" sign. Use the crowbar to pry the door open.

Draw pistols and crouch down. Angle Lara to the left and blow apart the box on the floor. Run forward and pick up the small Medi Pack (3). Turn right and run to the left side of the scaffolding.

Climb up onto the scaffolding and step forward. Climb up onto the ledge ahead. Take a hairpin turn to the right and climb up onto the crate that has a rope attached to it. Make sure Lara is standing to either side of the crate and stays clear of the rope above or she will not be able to climb up on the crate. Once upon the crate, angle Lara to the left and take a running jump to the windowsill above.

Pick up the small Medi Pack (4), turn around and take a standing jump back down to the crate. Turn right and tightrope walk across to the ledge ahead. Walk forward and angle Lara to the right.

Take a standing jump over to the ledge ahead. Turn right and walk forward to the window. Vault up into the opening and run across the ledge to the building across the street. Turn right and take a standing jump to the gap in the wall ahead.

Take another standing jump to the small section of scaffolding ahead. Turn right and take a running jump and grab onto the opening in the building ahead. Pull up, step forward and pick up the box of shotgun normal ammo (5).

Turn around and take a running jump and grab onto the small section of scaffolding. Pull up and step forward. Turn around and safety drop to the ledge below. Turn around and run forward and drop to the pile of bricks.

Pick up the canister of flares (6), and turn around. Run forward and slide down the pile of bricks. Run forward to the boarded-up doorway and pick up a box of revolver ammo (7). Turn around, run forward to the pile of bricks, and angle Lara to the left.

Take a standing jump up to the top of the pile of bricks. Turn right and walk forward to the edge of the flat part of the pile of bricks. Take a standing jump up to the ledge ahead, grabbing and pulling up as necessary. Turn left and walk forward. Lara will see a network of gears in the area ahead.

Turn around and safety drop to the ground below. Reverse roll, run forward and turn right when Lara steps out into the courtyard ahead. Run forward through the first archway. Continue forward through the second archway, and turn left.

Run forward, and turn left to face the support pillar. Climb the ladder and shift to the left when Lara reaches the top. When Lara shifts around the corner, release and allow Lara to land on the wooden slope below and slide backwards to the bottom of the slope.

Turn right and take a running jump to the ledge ahead, which slopes up to the right and meets a column on the left. Angle Lara to the left and take a jump to the small ledge behind the column.

Run into the room ahead and pull the rope. The gear that Lara saw earlier will rise. Pull the rope again. The large horizontal gear will rise again. Pull the rope a third time. This time the gear will rise again and mesh with the smaller gear.

Reverse roll and run forward back out onto the ledge. Angle Lara to the right and take a standing jump to the ledge that extends out from the column. Turn right and take a running jump back to the ledge below the ladder that Lara first climbed onto.

Angle Lara to the right and aim Lara for the opening between the two hypogryphs. Step backwards until Lara is as far away from the edge of the ledge as possible. Take a running jump and attempt to grab the opening. Lara will not actually grab the opening, but attempting to do so will change her trajectory and cause her to land in the opening.

Pick up the Uzi clips (8) in the opening, and turn around. Walk forward to the edge of the opening and angle Lara to the right. Aim Lara for the ledge ahead and take a running jump to reach it.

Angle Lara to the right and take a standing jump to the ledge behind the column. Run forward into the next room and pull the rope. Pulling the rope will rotate the large drive gear. The gears will open a large round door, revealing an area with a statue of a Roman legionary.

Reverse roll, and run back out to the ledge outside. Turn around and safety drop to the ground. Lara will take a minuscule amount of damage when she hits the ground.
SECRET #1
Reverse roll, and run forward, back to the area that Lara first dropped to when she entered this area. Ahead and to the left is a trapdoor that was also opened by pulling the second rope. Angle Lara to the left and run forward to drop through the trapdoor.

Turn right and drop to the floor of the room. Run forward and pick up the gold rose (9), which is SECRET #1. Turn right and run forward to the alcove to pick up a box of shotgun wideshot ammo (10). Reverse roll, run around the ledge below the open trapdoor to the alcove on the other side of the room and pick up a box of regular shotgun ammo (11).

Reverse roll, run forward, and turn right. Vault up onto the ledge below the trapdoor and turn right. Climb out of the trapdoor and angle Lara to the left. Run forward to return to the courtyard.
Turn right and run forward. Turn left when Lara reaches the opening that leads into a chamber with a smooth marble ramp. Run up the ramp and turn left before entering the room with the statue of the legionary.
Golden Coin
Run forward and climb up onto the ledge ahead. Pull up into the alcove ahead and turn right. Drop into the chamber ahead and run forward to the gate ahead. Use the crowbar to pry off the Golden Coin (12). Immediately reverse roll, climb out of this room and turn left to escape a swarm of rats that will emerge when Lara pries the coin free. Run forward to drop to the ground and run around until the rats disperse.

Enter the chamber with the statue of the legionary and pick up a box of revolver ammo (13) and a small Medi Pack (14).

Run around to the front of the statue and place the golden coin into the receptacle in its base to open a couple of gates elsewhere. Reverse roll and run forward to exit this chamber and return to the courtyard outside.

Run straight ahead across the courtyard and through the newly opened gate ahead. Run up the steps and turn left. Run through the second gate and run forward down the alley.

Turn right when the alley meets a wider street. Run forward, past the pool on the left, until Lara reaches another alley at the end of the street. Turn right, enter the short alley and pick up a box of revolver ammo (15).

Reverse roll, run forward, and turn left. Run back down the street and turn right when Lara returns to the pool. Run forward and drop into the pool. Swim forward until Lara passes beneath the two waterfalls. Turn left and swim forward to the gate and pick up a small Medi Pack (16) from the floor of the murky pool.

Flip turn and surface. Turn left and tread water forward until Lara can pull out of the pool. Enter the doorway, turn right and step forward. Mechanical tentacles will activate and a robotic head of a Roman centurion will activate and float above the tentacles.. Step forward and pick up the box of revolver ammo (17).
Mechanical Sentry
When Lara enters the next room the mechanical sentry (1) will shoot lightning bolts from its eyes which will kill Lara instantly if she is hit. She must shoot out both its eyes to destroy it.

Run forward and turn right. Follow the catwalk as it turns left and allow Lara to drop to the floor of the room. Jump over the tentacles and angle Lara to the left. Quickly have her make her way into the room ahead before the sentry fires its first beam. Duck around the door to avoid getting hit by its deadly beams.

Equip the revolver with the lasersight if Lara hasn't already done so. Ready the revolver and use the blocks that flank the ramp that leads up to the doorway for cover. Take aim on the sentry's eyes and shoot them both out. When Lara shoots out both the sentry's eyes, the mechanical head will crash down onto the base, causing the tentacles to break and the head to explode.
SECRET #2
Before exiting this small room, climb up onto the block to either side of the ramp. Turn around and walk forward to the edge of the block. Jump up and grab the support beam that spans the room and pull up onto the beam.

Walk forward and take a standing jump onto the red machine and pick up the gold rose (18), which is SECRET #2. Run forward and drop to the floor of this room. Run forward and drop to the floor of this room.
Mars Symbol
Exit the small room with the red machine that Lara was using for cover, and return to the larger room that was formerly occupied by the sentry. Pick up the Mars Symbol (19) that was left behind after the sentry exploded.

Run forward, across the room, and drop into the area on the other side of the room. Turn left and run to the corner to pick up a box of revolver ammo (20). Reverse roll, walk forward, and stand in front of the orange wedge on the circular gear symbol on the floor.

Flip open2 the circular trapdoor and drop into the tunnel below. Step forward and turn left. Step forward until Lara comes to a chamber in the shape of a cross with a cross-shaped pool. Turn left and drop into the pool. If Lara explores the ledge beside the pool, eventually a swarm of rats will emerge.

Turn right and swim along the pool. Swim past the middle of the cross into the arm of the cross that is directly ahead and pick up a small Medi Pack (21). Flip turn and surface at the middle of the 'T'-shaped pool. Below is a large propeller that is forcing water upwards, preventing Lara from swimming down into the lower part of the pool.

Turn right and look down into the deep part of the pool. In the wall of the underwater shaft Lara can spot a small opening. When Lara has caught her breath, dive down and enter the opening.

Swim into the tunnel and turn right. Swim forward, dive down and turn left. Swim forward and surface. Pull out of the water and angle Lara to the left. Pick up the box of shotgun normal ammo (22). Angle Lara back to the right and run forward to the large pipe.
Valve Wheel
Use the crowbar to pry the valve wheel (23) off of the large pipe, and reverse roll. Angle Lara to the left and run forward and dive into the water. Dive down into the water and swim forward. Swim up the shaft and turn right. Swim forward and turn left. Swim forward and surface.

Turn right and tread water forward toward the ledge on the left. Pull out of the water and follow the ledge back to the tunnel that Lara first entered from. Turn right, and locate the ladder on the left wall.

Turn left and climb back up the ladder into the room above. Run across the room and reenter the room with the red machine. Attach the valve wheel to the red machine, and then turn the wheel to activate the machine.

Reverse roll and exit this room. Run across the room and turn around just before Lara reaches the open trapdoor. Safety drop back into the tunnel below. Turn left, step forward, and turn left again.

Step forward to the chamber with the pool and turn left. Drop into the pool and turn right. Swim forward and surface when Lara is over the middle of the 'T'-shaped pool. Operating the red machine has disengaged the propeller at the bottom of the pool.

Swim down to the bottom of the pool and turn right. Enter the opening in the wall of the shaft near the bottom and dive deeper. Level Lara out and swim forward. The small underwater tunnel will intersect with a larger underwater tunnel.

Angle Lara to the left and swim across the larger underwater tunnel into a smaller tunnel. Follow the tunnel down and to the right until Lara can surface. Pull out of the water and allow Lara to catch her breath while picking up the large Medi Pack (24).

Drop back into the water and follow the underwater tunnel as it bends to the left, until Lara returns to the larger underwater tunnel. Turn left and swim down the large underwater tunnel Follow the tunnel as it turns to the right.

Ahead, two large underwater propellers prevent Lara from crossing the underwater chamber ahead. Swim forward and allow the current to blow Lara to the right. Swim forward, with the current, to the end of the tunnel and swim upward.

Spiral upward to avoid a ledge that juts out part way up the shaft. Surface and pull out of the water. Run forward and turn left at another red machine. Turn the wheel on the machine to disengage the two propellers below.

Turn left and run forward to drop back into the water. Swim down until Lara returns to the bottom of the underwater tunnel. Level Lara out and swim toward the two propellers which should not be turning. When Lara reaches the propellers, turn right and enter the small tunnel.

Follow the tunnel as it turns to the right. Continue forward and the tunnel will widen and pass a grate on the right. Swim up through an opening in the ceiling of the tunnel beyond the grate. The tunnel will become taller and kink to the left, then back to the right. The tunnel will widen and Lara will be able to surface.
Shotgun
Surface and pull out of the water at the small tunnel ahead. Run forward and pick up a box of shotgun normal ammo (25). Run forward and the a gate behind Lara will slam shut, locking Lara in this chamber. Step forward to pick up a shotgun (26) on the floor and continue forward. A statue of a Roman legionary will come to life in the room ahead.
Legionary
Not only can the Legionary (2) use its sword to cut Lara down, it can also fire bolts from it as well. Draw the shotgun that Lara just picked up and equip it with the Shotgun Normal Ammo and blast off its armor while jumping side to side. As it advances, take a backflip, but continue firing. Eventually it will fall after about 16 shotgun blasts. Make sure Lara keeps her distance or the Legionary may collapse right on top of Lara. The window above the ledge that the Legionary was originally standing on will burst open, and the underwater gate that prevents access to the last symbol will open.

Run to the ledge below the window and jump up and grab the ledge. Pull up and pick up a small Medi Pack (27) and a pair of Uzi clips3 (28). Climb up through the window and step forward. Turn left and walk to the end of the ledge and pick up another small Medi Pack (29). Turn right and drop to the street below.
SECRET #3
Turn left and run forward to the end of the street. Turn left and follow the alley back to the small courtyard with the palm tree. Step through the opening back to the main street. Turn left and run down the street. Turn left and enter the gateway that was formerly closed.

Run forward through this courtyard and angle to the right to the alcove in the corner to pick up a gold rose, which is SECRET #3. Reverse roll, and exit this courtyard. Turn right and run back down the main street.

Turn right and reenter the gate Lara stepped out of earlier. Follow the alley forward and to the right. Turn left and face the pool.
Venus Symbol
Run forward and drop into the pool. Swim forward, under the waterfalls, and turn left. Swim through the newly opened grate and pick up the Venus Symbol (30). Swim forward through the opening ahead and surface.

Pull up out of the water at the opening ahead and Lara will find herself back at the garden.

Lara steps through the opening back into the garden. She draws her guns and calls out, "Come out, come out wherever you are?"

Larson pops out from behind the building with his gun draw, "Heck, this ambushin' ain't what it used to be."

Lara trains her guns on him and replies, "Not when you're involved, no."

"Practice makes perfect, I'm reckonin'."

"Whatever," Lara tells him carelessly. "We seem to be missing someone," Lara notices. She side steps out of the opening into the middle of the garden.

"If you's talking 'bout Frenchy, he's kind of... indisposed," Larson announces smugly.

"And you thought you might just help yourself to his share of what's behind that gate?" Lara asks. "Unless of course this is just a social visit."

Larson tells her sweetly, "Well, you know I's always pleased to see a little belle like you, Lara. Be more pleased to see that last stone, though, if you'll be wantin' to hand it over." Lara fires and Larson dives behind the building and complains, "That ain't supposed to happen."


Quickly draw weapons and open fire on Larson. Jump back and forth to try to dodge Larson's shots. After Larson falls, Lara will holster her guns.

Lara begins to approach Larson with her guns trained on him. A noise, like stone grinding on stone, catches her attention and she looks up. The stone serpents begin to move and look around.

Lara begins to back away and calls out to Larson, "Larson! Behind you!" Her voice is clearly alarmed.

Larson, holding his wound, doesn't notice the serpents eyeing him from behind and tells Lara, "I may be a dumb ass but I ain't fallin' for that again."

"No, really," Lara points with her guns, "behind you."

Larson raises the pitch of his voice to ape Lara, "Behind you! Behind you!" The three serpents emerge from the building and squirm around Larson. One of the serpents clamps its jaws around Larson's midriff. Lara continues to back away while Larson is screaming frantically. Finally the serpent flings Larson across the garden. He lands hard on his back and lets out a, "Whoa."

Gate Serpents
Quickly angle Lara to the left and sprint forward. Duck behind the building to avoid the three Gate Serpents (3, 4, 5). They do not move from the front of the building.

Grab the box of shotgun wideshot ammo (31). Turn right and run behind the building to pick up a large Medi Pack (32). Run forward, turn right and pick up a box of shotgun normal ammo (33).

Now turn right so that Lara is facing the building with her back to the closed gate that led up to the temple on the hill. Draw the shotgun with whatever shells Lara happens to have the most of. Wait until the serpents have launched a few fireballs, and take a side flip to the left. Get off as many shots as Lara can before the serpents are ready to spit fire again. Lara will know because the serpents make a screeching cry just before launching fire. Repeat until all three serpents are destroyed.

When it's safe, turn left and cross the garden and pick up another box of shotgun normal ammo (34) and a box of shotgun wideshot ammo (35). Return to the front of the building and place the Mars and Venus symbols into their receptacles.

The door in the front of the building will blow apart and reveal a cavern inside. Strangely enough, the cavern inside is bigger than the building itself. On the opposite side of the building lays the Philosopher's Stone set in the strange wall ahead. Step inside the building and take a standing jump over the pit of spikes and grab the ledge in the middle of the room and pull up.

Take a running jump over a second pit to the ledge with the Philosopher's Stone ahead, however the ledge will collapse away, and drop Lara onto the slope below. Lara will take a tiny bit of damage and slide into the Coliseum.
